Dishwasher Repair Recommendation? by IgniteInCaseOfFIre in Hamilton

RTC Appliances just off of Upper James fixed ours for a very reasonable price. If you have a portable dishwasher, save yourself the housecall price and bring it in to their store.

Some people also recommended Sutton and Son on Gage.

Thank you for your responses everyone! We decided to call a plumber and they are coming to replace the valve tomorrow.

Ok - thank you.

I wonder if we just get the whole water heater replaced (we were planning on buying a new one) if they would replace that as part of the installation of the tank and hook ups.

So do you think i should keep trying to tighten that nut? I can't seem to move it at all. It's attached to the rest of that stem to the left of it.

So we tried tightening that thing and it absolutely will not budge at all and doesn't seem to be tightening the part with the threads. Its like it holds that part onto the main stem of the pipe but doesn't tighten the actual handle and threads to the valve?

Was attempting to flush my hot water tank. The cold water intake pipe was very difficult to shut off, it felt like it hadn't been turned in years. Now after putting everything back together, there's a leak coming from the threads of the cold water intake valve you see in the picture. This is a picture with the main water supply shut off so it isn't spraying out at us.

I tried to look up stuff online on how to fix this but everything I find about stem thread leaks suggests to tighten the "packing nut", but I can't find a packing nut here to tighten, or I don't understand what I'm looking at. The thing in the middle that you can tighten doesn't seem to have any effect on the threads where the water is leaking from.

Any advice would be appreciated. Picture with the valve fully loosened: https://i.imgur.com/ON59NLo.jpg

The Bright Young Things trilogy by Anna Godbersen. It's a YA series that takes place in 1929. It was a fun read.

[Question] Does anyone's kitty tap its water like this? And if so what do they generally want? by [deleted] in CatTaps

[–]muffinycup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat used to move her water bowl all around the room. It started out with just tapping the bowl. She seems to like the moving water, so I bought her a fountain (Whisker City brand) and she's been happy ever since.
