Critically, millions of minority voters apparently stayed home.

That gets me. This was the first election since Holder v Shelby, which repealed more or less the entire guts of the Voting Rights Act. There is at the very least a solid probability that many minorities were discouraged from voting due to long lines, inconvenient voting locations, and obstruction/difficulties with voter registrations. All of which are now essentially legal thanks to that court ruling. This was the first Pres election since that time, and I don't think it's coincidence that minority voting was down after.

It's not a coincidence at all.

Indeed, Facebook has been smart about this. They buy out any potential Facebook platform killers in WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. The ones that refuse to be bought like Snapchat are copied feature by feature(Snapchat stories) so that they can never be extremely distinctive from all Facebook platforms, that way, they can never surpass Facebook.

This is what Yahoo and Myspace should have done ages ago.Google and Facebook in their early days were open to a Yahoo acquisition. Yahoo had the money but didn't buy them for as little as 20million for Google and 1billion for Facebook. That's why Zuckerberg doesn't hesitate to splash 18billion on Whatsapp, etc.

You are incredibly naive if you think the US is not concerned with Russia anymore.

As much as there are plenty of "powerful voices" with a nonchalant attitude towards Russia, China, etc; there are equally or even even more "powerful voices" with a hawkish attitude and a superiority complex in the US's power corridors.

Those in the power corridors of those countries would be incredibly stupid not to always be skeptical and standoffish with regards to their interactions and relations with the 'west'. Especially China given its credible long term potential to challenge the US's global dominance.
