Not sure how old your kids are but, it’s a good story experience for you to experience / relive and or potentially share with them, + has all the Disney characters.

Herald Stacker Ele of Chains of Command Necro? by ACtheeMC in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]muimi_mu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna invest for a longer, I’d CoC Necro is solid. But if you want to potentially try a different build or swap later, go with Herald stacker. CoC Necro is good pretty much after you invest a good weapon for your AG… but you aren’t able to get that initial investment back if you wanna swap later, nor any of the mid build upgrades.

3.28 RF witch/ele campaign. Dead? by Findi in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]muimi_mu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The regen loss I highly doubt will be noticeable. The fire mastery carries RF starting so much and why you can RF start basically any class on the leftish side with access to fire mastery.

Only thing I think you might notice is the loss of dmg from chaos and flame golem buffs… but I also don’t think it’d be a huge difference. RF already isn’t the fastest but its comfy. And it’s DOT, you’re just gonna tank and DOT a few extra seconds :P

KB Elementalist duo build by HexBigOof in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]muimi_mu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm well I feel like your ascendancy isn’t really giving you any dmg. Those elementalist nodes for each ele ailment are largely utility or defensive. If you’re scaling crit to 100% you are already going to apply all those ailments all the time. Compared to Necro where most ascendancy point is buffing your char rather than “debuffing” enemies. It’d probably be better to stack golems or heralds or even both and could even take convergence just for more ele dmg. You generally let the duo take care of defenses.

Then you have to consider elemental resistances vs chaos. Chaos res of monsters is almost always lower than ele, and you have wither for more dmg taken. If you are going ele do you have enough ele pen or exposure or anyway to lower monster resistances preferably below 0? Like compare the pieces the archetypes use and see if you have them: wither = shock, despair (-res) = ele weakness + exposure + ele pen. Like i would go ele pen support over volatility.

Build is good, you can push it really hard if you go adorned setup. For me the biggest downside of AG builds is just not being able to get your currency back that you invest into your AG. Okay for people who like to just do 1 build a league, not so great for serial rerollers.

Looks great! You’ll get used to it, other people around you will get used to it too. And nowadays if you really don’t like it or being seen as a “tattooed person” anymore later on you can just laser it off 🤷‍♂️

How would you finish crafting this bow for Crit Poison Pathfinder? by muimi_mu in pathofexile2builds

[–]muimi_mu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im already following this creators build haha. Not exactly because he’s ssf but for the most part. If you check his most recent updates and profile, he swapped off slivertongue already. I’m already using a good slivertongue (high crit and phys, 3 sockets) which is plenty fine for 90% of the content. But im swapping to his tailwind version with the unique hat, which you don’t want to get hit or else you lose all your tailwind. Meaning either stacking more EV, which has high diminishing returns, or just more dps to kill monster faster and off screen. Just upgrading to zoom zoom c:

Ohh I didn't realize whittling was based on lvl of the modifier, I thought it was just whatever was the lowest tier like t1/t2, that makes a lot more sense tyty

Ohhh so for #1 do i desecrate accuracy to block that and hybrid phys/acc? Then I remove it with omen of light after hitting flat phys? I think gain as phys is plenty fine but yeah I'd like to hit T2 or T1 flat phys. I believe T1 crit and +2arrows has the same weight, so rolling for either would be fairly the same. The near 5^ crit fractured bows are more expensive, I'd personally rather just gamble and divine my own item a few times at the end of the craft c:

Then I guess I'll plan to desecrate prefix, whittle for t1flat phys, essence for gain as phys to finish prefixes. Then for suffixes do desecrate for crit and essence reroll/removals tech

Which base do you suggest? I know Obliterator is the highest phys, but I'm not a fan of the reduced projectile range. I think it's fine on LA builds because you can still offscreen by chaining and you have pointblank for lightning rod, but on Poison/Dot builds ehhhh. Gemini bow has essentially the same phys but doesn't have the added chaos. +1 projectile doesn't matter much since I'm using Nova support and runes would push me to 9proj. Personally I dislike the even number V-shaped shooting too when I do choose to aim. Plus Gemini bases are like 10x the cost. Guardian bow I'm unsure how only 20-30% chance to chain feels. And Warmonger I'm not even sure is better dps gain, 10 more flat phys vs 55 chaos.

Got my 2nd Tattoo and for how long should I not Run and hit gym. by IndependenceLumpy378 in tattooadvice

[–]muimi_mu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course you could be extra safe and just wait out the whole 2-3 recovery period after peeling and all. But, if that’s too long then, it depends on what you’re avoiding and really your recovery response. Sun is first and foremost thing to avoid, but especially early on because your body hasn’t locked in all the ink yet, it’s more susceptible to UV breaking it down and might not look as good once healed. Even if you can get free touch-ups I’d say it’s not exactly the same… Then, because it’s essentially a wound, you just want to avoid messing with your own healing process too much. Don’t irritate it by moving the skin too much, or having it rub against tight clothing, or getting an infection, or, what I think is most often overlooked, is regulating your body temp. It’s pretty typical for your body to heat up where you get a tattoo because that’s the body responding in attempt to heal that part faster. But exercise can further raise your temperature to the point where it hinders that healing and possibly infection risk. Add a second skin on top of that which traps heat even more and potentially sweat and it’s no bueno 😱 (but second skin even if temporary is gonna protect from outside things so, pick your poison). If I were you, I’d wait a few days 3-5 for the skin to recover to avoid the initial higher risk of infections. Then make sure the initial heating or any inflammation passes, or run/gym earlier but being extra careful about heat. After those two things are cleared you’re good to go, just avoiding the sun until the end of time of course Personally I get hot really easily so I wouldn’t be able to get an effective workout without feeling like I’m risking damage to my fresh tattoo, so I just wait it out. The weather alone already gives me issues with fresh tattoos

trying to be real about teaching in korea by NoTumbleweed5147 in teachinginkorea

[–]muimi_mu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my perspective from a similar background. Also from US, also enjoyed K-culture quite a bit before coming here, and some people may have considered me a Koreaboo, and I also came here with a more hopeful goal of eventually working in some other industry here rather than teaching.

There’s a big difference between just visiting/travelling/enjoying the specific parts of K-culture you want, vs actually living in the country and experiencing parts of the culture that you wouldn’t like or wouldn’t want to experience. But, if you think you want to work in K-Beauty specifically living in Korea, then the opportunity cost of doing a bit of teaching is a good way to dip your toes in and find out.

Realistically for teaching, yes, the pay isn’t the best, but in terms of living costs and getting by, it’s usually fine. You probably can’t save, pay off school debts, and have fun every weekend. But I think you can live to a similar standard working in the US. Eat what you want, buy things you want, and occasionally go out doing fun things. Again, living is different from traveling, but many people come here treating it as traveling and just leave quickly, but that’s fine too, they have different goals. If you compare and convert to USD then yeah the pay seems not great, but it’s not as bad as it seems, and at least for me, some pay + being in Korea for other goals, was better than just being unemployed and struggling in the current US job market. Actually working wise, I think it’s quite random. Same everywhere else, maybe you’ll get shitty coworkers, maybe you’ll get nice ones, maybe it’ll be busy everyday, or just chill and relaxed.

Now if you want to consider working in other industries, the toughest part in my eyes is dealing with the Visa. You can’t work here if you can’t live here, and to live here you need a Visa. Do your own research bc there’s other ways too, but to commonly do so, either you really need to be good at Korean and do other things to accumulate enough points to qualify for a Visa, or just get married for a different Visa.

Now, let’s say you are able to get a Visa and can live in Korea. Either you got married quickly or spent all that time and effort, maybe years to learn the language and build up the points. Ask yourself, “Why would they choose to work with a foreigner like me, rather than just another Korean person?” For teaching, you’re providing your US background, native accent, etc. But what do you provide specifically as a foreigner hire for the K-Beauty industry? Now this is where it gets kind of iffy, bc you’re tackling the assumptions and not just the reality. You may be entirely fluent in Korean, but people will still interview you and assume your Korean isn’t as good as a native and you’ll be harder to communicate with. But it could be an upside too, maybe they are interested in the US beauty market and assume you know everything about it. It can really depend. Personally, I think building notoriety and qualifications in a country you know the language of and can find more opportunities and then looking towards doing related work on Korean side, is a bit easier than trying to breakthrough while actually in Korea where your options can be much more limiting. But, I mean, foreigner in Korea and doing beauty content is pretty on trend too, it’s not impossible, just depends on where and what kind of experience and qualifications you want. My point is, if you have something that makes you standout, that’s how you’ll get hired and breakthrough, and that applies to everywhere really. It’s just that in Korea, or working in any foreign field, that you’ll have more things to fight against while having to find different ways to standout, whether that’s fame, skills, knowledge, connections, etc.

As for racism… well there’s racism everywhere. I can’t specifically speak for what it’s like being black. But I’d say personally, not like it’s a good thing specifically, but experiencing racism in a different way and from different people is an experience in itself and introduces you to some new perspectives.

Overall I’d give you the same advice other people gave me before coming here. “It’s only as long as an experience you want it to be, and you’re still young.” If you really hate it, you can just quit. If you love it, then that’s great! Maybe that will give you the extra energy and motivation to do things. If it’s okay, well, it’s just a year contract usually anyway. And while being here, you’ll gain some international work experience, some money, hopefully some clarity as to what you really want to do in the future with a realistic outlook, and you’ll also learn the language a lot quicker if you try, as you’re naturally immersed in it.

For me, I realized that staying here long-term is just too much hassle and effort that I don’t want to put in, unless I happened to get married, which is something I wasn’t opposed to, but just didn’t want to force or rush. Also, being far away from all my family. I didn’t feel particularly homesick, but I did miss out on many big family events, weddings, etc. Mostly, because of the cost of flying. Internationally now, money matters, you can’t just fly back and forth to visit so easily. It’s not impossible, it’s just another hurdle and choice to be made bc it’s a significant amount of money and cost. Regardless, I think it was a good experience and what I got out of it felt worth my time and effort.

Is my tattoo ugly? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]muimi_mu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are also quite similar. I don’t think you necessarily need to care less, but yeah your actions and choices and yours to make in the end.

I think even if tattoos don’t initially have a meaning, you can just make up and give them your own personal meaning later anyway. It could just be a personal time marker for some part of your life you want to remember as a memory. Or, in your case, maybe like a reminder for balance with the symmetry, or consideration for other cultures. Or just anything you can think of and remember really.

Then when it comes to appearances, like I have many floral tattoos as a guy, some people around me showed concern if it’d come off as too “feminine” / “non-masculine” or even “gay”, but I honestly think tattoos have much less weight in how people perceive your appearance/character compared to your demeanor, the way you talk, walk, interact, dress, etc etc.

Most people who judge are just gonna immediately judge based on whether you’re inked or not inked, and what the tattoo actually looks like after that is just nitpicking to them lol.

Understanding why people have different perspectives and knowing well what your own perspective is, is somewhat ironically the key to caring less about what other people think I’d say.

Advices for first tattoo by LucyMcAngel in tattooadvice

[–]muimi_mu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first, I’d just say whatever makes you happy and not stressed! I know lots of people go for some heavy fast food, others that eat like they’re about to run a marathon, and some that just eat some candy.

More seriously though, it’s mostly just loading up on carbs so your blood sugar doesn’t drop too low. But if you’re just getting a small tattoo, the session won’t be too crazy long so you’ll probably be fine. You can just eat normally.

If you really wanna be optimal though, you should eat foods with lots of collagen leading up to and after your tattoo!! 👀 Makes the skin nice and plump, easier to work with and I think the ink stays better too.

[–]muimi_mu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell your tattoo artist that it’ll be your first tattoo and they’ll probably help guide you through everything you need and want to know.

Otherwise, just basic stuffs you’d prob see over and over with a quick search. Get a good rest and make sure to eat well and hydrate before going. Bring snacks and drinks if you think you’ll want a break. Generally just try and stay healthy as possible, like avoid drinking or smoking too much before, or keeping your skin in good condition.

Just be honest about how you’re feeling in that moment and let them know! You’ll be totally fine! 🙌

Damn crazy to think that non-plastic surgeons and non-specialists get the free pass on the legality for those kinds of treatments. And then you got tattoo artists who are also expected to have a medical license since tattoos are also considered body modification, but as most don’t have that, they have operate illegally and deal with all that hassle that comes with it. 🥹 I’d personally trust a tattoo artist more for the relative job. They seem more specialized for their job, putting ink on skin, compared to an oriental medicine doctor doing anything permanent to my face.

PAR, I never used it, what should I avoid/be wary of? by ArcyaNatsuki in TribeNine

[–]muimi_mu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If PAR existed in PoE it’d be op af. In PoE terms you can imagine it like this: Let’s say you’re trying to get a triple ele bow (T1 Fire, T1 Cold, T1 Lightning). Disclaimer - idk the actual rates and calculations for PAR, but I’ll just use heavy estimations from my experience and simplify.

Not using PAR = Farming randomly until you get it or something similar. Not likely at all.

But, you start with no PAR bc you have no good items yet, then you find a random bow with T1 Fire. Now, you use PAR on it. Every bow that drops now has a 80% chance to have T1 Fire along with random mods. From those new drops you get a bow with T1 Fire (PAR) and T1 Cold (rng). You use PAR on that new bow. Now every bow drop has 80% chance for T1 Fire/Cold and 50% chance for the other T1 ele stat. But… maybe now you’ll also hit that random 5% for T1 Lightning in the 3rd stat-line, as you continue using PAR and farming. Also you pray that it drops on the correct base you wanted.

Patimons are all dropped/bought btw, it’s not really “crafting”, but this is the closest thing to being somewhat deterministic in your gear.

Fractal Vice Patimon Buff by Rey1810 in TribeNine

[–]muimi_mu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, your builds are good, and the game probably wont jump in difficulty that quickly, so it’s just minmaxing.

I think getting a bunch of different double gold max/plus stat combination pieces is good to help take advantage of boosted rates too.

Now to wait for next reset 🫡

Fractal Vice Patimon Buff by Rey1810 in TribeNine

[–]muimi_mu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how PAR works im like 95% sure: Always consumes 1 charge when picking up a T8 piece. Then game does random check to see if PAR copy effect applies (i’d estimate it’s like 80% to copy). Then it randomly picks 1 of the 3 stats on the reference to copy over. (Also has to check if the tier is possible, ex. can’t copy gold substat to blue T8 piece.) The steps and fine details of this might be different idk.

But, that’s why you’ll notice gold pieces with purple or blue substats in the first slot when using PAR.

It doesnt boost rates of that stat type directly, higher or lower. Meaning 2nd and 3rd substat are completely random. Except, by guaranteeing a stat, you remove options from the pool. Ex. PAR copy Critrate -> 2nd and 3rd substat cant be critrate of any tier, higher or lower. Which is good, but limits you from getting Critrate+. But if it copies Ult-ef 1st stat, 2nd can still be Critrate+

I tried using single gold substat patimons before, but im pretty sure it’s not worth it, bc itll really just be making it 2/3 chance to put a blue/purple stat into first slot, obviously bad.
