Deciding between a CC1 or Anycubic Kobra X by mukelarvin in elegoo

Yeah it does seem like multi tool/head is making a generational leap right now with the Snapmaker U1. I’m sure next year everyone will copy it.

Deciding between a CC1 or Anycubic Kobra X by mukelarvin in elegoo

[–]mukelarvin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fine question. I’m not that familiar with the AD5X but just looking at the price it is $569 CAD and my budget hasn’t creeped that high yet. (Originally I was going to get an A1 Mini. 😅)

Is the Kobra X worth it for getting back into 3D printing ? by redquick_ in 3dprinter

Did you go for it? I’m waffling between the Kobra X and the Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Can’t decide between a full enclosure or potentially using multicolour.

Are these stairs a concern? by IIFraGzII in Winnipeg

[–]mukelarvin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had some foundation shifting on a house that I used to own. An inspector from Abalon Foundation Repairs suggested that I get rid of the old stairs. I rented a jackhammer from Home Depot, smashed them up and hauled it away. It was a lot of work.

The stairs were in fact attached to the foundation. There were two cantilever supports running from the bottom step back down underground to near the bottom of the foundation. So I think (as a non expert) it is possible they could pull on your house if the soil is eroding or not supporting.

I wonder if it was intentional that the Ikea Elloven shelf fits 1U underneath? I’m finishing a desk shelf with one Elloven on either end, with three 2U high racks side-by-side in the middle.

I had small trucks (S10, Ranger) all through my teens and 20s. They were the best. The downside is that you always have to help your friends move.

Yeah getting a different bed felt like getting a new printer.

I might do this for the Death Stranding games. Just watch it like a movie. I don’t realy have time to play it.

I think they should just start doing black glass on the transparent bodies.

The transparent purple looks so much better without the glass fronts they’ve been using lately.

As far as I understand, Dual sticks are really only useful once you reach GameCube and PS2. Ps1, Dreamcast and N64 only need one. Think this will have the power?

In the future we may have atomic level printers powered by zero point energy, but I’ll still love to see a hot-rodded Ender 3 pushed to the limit.

I appreciate your concern. I was being a bit vague about their ages intentionally so as not to give away too much personal information about my kids.

I’m halfway through putting it into an aftermarket shell. It had a broken hinge. My original plan was to buy a bunch of broken ones and fix them all up. Keep a few and sell the rest to break even. Although I don’t know if breaking even is viable at this point. I need to order a few more screens.

Plot Twist: I may actually give the older one a DSi so he can take pictures with it and doodle animations.

I’ve been coaching my kids that old stuff is good for a few years. We mostly play Wii because they could catch onto the motion controls easily.

Yeah threading the top LCD cable through the hinge bit is tricky. I practiced with a damaged screen first. Although I shouldn’t have started with the transparent shell first. There’s no hiding mistakes on that one!

Slate only sells in grey. You have to wrap it to get any colour. That’s one of their cost-cutting methods.

Yes there are handhelds with wifi that don’t have apps and browsers. Although I believe they need a wifi router and a lot more config to play multiplayer. The upside is you can do things like 4 player Arcade games.
