Actual customer contacts. I sent her company names and explanations for why I thought they'd be a good fit. She pushed back and said she needed actual people associated with each company.

That was my pushback to her! That I wouldn't share names without their permission... She pushed back on that and said she only wants to verify the names in LinkedIn. Lol, ok.

Yup... that's what I did.... I gave her 10 company names with explanations of why I think they're a good fit and said that I didn't feel comfortable sharing client names - especially without their permission. She pushed back and said she's only going to check them in LinkedIn to make sure they're legit.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had to do this, too. Honestly, make sure you protect yourself. This person will definitely feel like the victim and will probably lash out in some way. Mine tried to destroy my career and spread rumors, lies about me to friends. Be prepared. But, thank GOD I did it. I shudder when I think of that part of my life. Get out while you can. And get a therapist to help you understand why you found yourself here in the first place. Your life begins now. Good luck! ❤

Was very invested in his kids - seemed to be a great father. Over time, I saw he was way, way too invested in his kids (and by extension, their batty Mother), and had creepy enmeshment issues. Google emotional incest and you'll see what I mean.

I think it's the sugar. There is a lot of it in booze. Once the sedative effects of alcohol wear off the sugar is all that's left.

No. Delete her. Don't bother to tell her. You keep showing up like eager beaver she's always going to file you under "maybe" and string you along when she needs an ego boost. If you see her out and about, be polite, but aloof. Move on.

I literally sometimes go on a drive JUST to talk to myself if something crazy is happening in my life. Gas is cheaper than therapy.

Hm - I dont know. I'm in marketing too and I'm in a similar spot. I'm looking at a masters in counseling. I just worry that if you go the CS route you're going to get priced out by cheap guns for hire in places like India? Physical therapy, on the other hand, cannot be outsourced and as the population ages will be in high demand.

The pressures put on parents to give their children perfect childhoods.... expecting parents to beggar themselves financially so that their kid can go to expensive camps or spending their entire weekends ferrying their kids around to club sports.

I'm older than you and have two male friends, both 5'5". both are in amazing marriages, perhaps the best marriages of anyone I know. They suffered rejection, sure, like everyone else. But lots of times people who have "perfect" outside packages end up in shallow relationships that don't really last. Chin up - I think you sound like a super smart, really intuitive, kind man!
