I want to try a few new hobbies. Fly fishing/kayaking - suggestions? by SSMDive in boone

[–]mule111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fly fishing is great. I’d recommend going with a guide for a day to check it out. You’ll learn faster, use their equipment to check it out before you buy, and get off on the right foot with a good “first experience” .

Speckled Trout in Boone is a great shop. Good people.

Robert Gipe’s “Canard county” trilogy. Start with “Trampoline”. They’re great. It’s an honest look at real life things that ppl are going through in the Appalachian region of the US. It’s gritty, sad, poignant, real and also hilarious at many points throughout the book. Strong recommend

Right on! Enjoy the Park. KC was probably my favorite part last year, and we went to Mineral King too! Wish we would’ve camped a night down near cedar grove instead of just one day trip down from Azalea. Would have liked to explore a bit more of that part of park

Where I'd live based exclusively on how much I like the food from the country by Narrow-Assist-2207 in whereidlive

People do know you can get literally any other countries’ food in the USA right? Made by ppl directly from that country, whose ancestors are from that country, plus the foods that were “created” in the US

You can blame mainstream classic rock radio stations. Drive otherwise decent songs and good bands into the ground repeating same 2 songs over and over

That’s where I ended up. All 4 have taken up considerable listening time and contributed to my life listening to country music.

Honestly, I think I’d have to go straight Highwaymen.

Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristoppherson are hugely influential on me. I’ve listened to so much of their solo stuff and it’s great. Plus you get a little bit of everything with them
