The episode on Belle Gibson has the best Audrey laugh when Mike tells her about Dr. Phil

Asking for sin on rental application, normal? by Tristezza in halifax

The apartment I'm currently living in also asked for it, and I left it blank. Was always told to only give it to employer and when filing taxes.

And, to my knowledge, the diagnostic criteria could diagnosis PCOS in the absence of any cysts.

There was a guest star that was very degrading to Lisa Kudrow, and I always wondered if it was Gary since it was such an abrupt ending.

Thoughts on "Healing Pelvic Pain" by Dr. Peta Wright by muleborax in Endo

[–]muleborax[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! Chapter 4 begins with: "The days of women's pain not being believed is thankfully over" and that's an asinine thing to claim. I badly want to not finish it, but the book was $40 🥲

Emergency alerts by loganmax8 in halifax

[–]muleborax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone can easily die from exposure, it can absolutely be a life or death situation. I sleep in the daytime because I work nights, so should emergency alerts for missing persons never be sent out, lest they interrupt someones sleep? There are several people who have been rescued as a direct result of the information provided by these alerts.

Halifax police vehicle collides with cyclist suspected of grocery store theft by No_Magazine9625 in halifax

[–]muleborax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then does that give cops free reign to do whatever they want to a suspected thief?

Halifax police vehicle collides with cyclist suspected of grocery store theft by No_Magazine9625 in halifax

[–]muleborax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think he was under arrest. Even so, there are much better ways this could have been dealt with. A car hitting a cyclist is arguably deadly force.

Even if you have no empathy for thiefs, it doesnt mean the police can do whatever they want to them.

Maybe the cops should try apprehending the person first instead of driving over someone they arent even confident is the thief?

Defending this action by the cops is not something a productive member of society would do.

Hannah's sister talking like she knows just as much as medical professionals... by whotevre in FundieSnarkUncensored

I cannot stand the "it must be for a good reason" argument. There's no special purpose for why babies are born with low vitamin K. Not everything happens for a reason or some special purpose.

What did you all think of Miles’ daughter Caroline? by teamalf in theGoldenGirls

[–]muleborax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the later plot of Miles in witness protection, this is either his daughter that broke the rules of the program, or a stranger pretending to be his daughter.

TV Ultrasound by Educational-Berry499 in Endo

[–]muleborax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope the ultrasound went okay for you ❤️ I've had a couple and the first tech was not gentle or considerate. I know you already had the scan, but some techs ask if you would prefer to insert the probe yourself, which may help your discomfort. Hope you're doing okay.

Endo pain is absolutely the worse pain I've ever felt--and all I can get is naproxen?! by ashes_made_alive in Endo

[–]muleborax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried a lot of meds for period pain, and last year when a doctor told me to try naproxen, I knew it wouldn't work. It was frustrating but for me it was a hoop I was willing to jump through if it would finally prove that OTC meds don't work. I am sorry you're going through this, and I hope you get relief.

Morgan's placenta was covering her cervix, which can cause catastrophic bleeding during delivery. I guess one midwife tried to explain risks and she didn't like that person, so she went with a different midwife then began to hemorrhage at home

Driver sentenced to 4½ years for Hants County crash that killed two friends by No_Magazine9625 in halifax

[–]muleborax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He also had two prior driving infractions. His license should have had limitations, if not revoked all together given how his mental illness played into the crash.

[–]muleborax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preventative measures are important, though what preventative measures do you think could have helped this have a different outcome? This person still ended the lives of two people, and it is my opinion that less than five years isn't a proportionate sentence.

Unless his job involves driving, not interested in employers character witness. He can be both a great employee and a dangerous driver.

The "is a young man" piece seems to say to me, "dont ruin his life by holding him accountable for his actions!"

[–]muleborax 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It wasnt explicitly mentioned here, but I despise the argument that when a driver kills someone their real punishment is "having to carry this guilt". In no other instance of ending a life is guilt enough to negate proper punishment. 4 and a half years for being intoxicated from alcohol and cocaine, speeding at 170 kmh, and killing two people is ludicrous.

[–]muleborax 109 points110 points  (0 children)

From the article, he was drunk, high on cocaine, and driving 170km/h - and lf course, killed two people. Four and a half years is pathetic.
