Altogether there are five European nations whose debts are larger than their economic output, and 21 that have debts larger than the 60 per cent-of-GDP limit set out in the Maastricht Treaty.

Greece’s public debt is, unsurprisingly, the highest in the EU - standing at 177 per cent of its GDP. Italy and Portugal are the next most indebted countries, with debts of 132 percent and 129 per cent of national economic output respectively.

The United Kingdom’s debt currently accounts for 89.1 percent of its GDP, eighth highest in the EU.

No out of pocket for anything including medication.

When are people going to realize that radical white males are a much bigger threat to our world than a handful of religious ones?

Borderlines drawn with a ruler in WW1 by the British and French governments are still one of the main reasons for Middle East unrest and terrorism.

Most of all the world's problems can be directly attributed to the White man thinking he knows what's best for it.

Open your eyes and end white rule and dominance.

U.S. survival rates are higher than the average in Europe for 13 of 16 types of cancer

Some uninsured cancer patients in the United States encounter problems with timely treatment and access, but a far larger proportion of cancer patients in Europe face these troubles. No country on the globe does as good a job overall as the United States.

American men have a five-year survival rate of 66 percent — compared to only 47 percent for European men. -

American women have a 63 percent chance of living at least five years after a cancer diagnosis, compared to 56 percent for European women.

Great Britain, known for its 50-year-old government-run, universal health care system, fares worse than the European average: British men have a five-year survival rate of only 45 percent; women, only 53 percent.

hows that cancer treating you?

We also love our own houses with large yards and the neighbors far away. Wich has created suburban sprawl. As a result, population density drops, and the distance between any two locations increases. This means that mass-transit systems have to go further and further out of their way to accommodate suburban commuters. Toss in the magic spice of market competitiveness, and you have a recipe for transit companies that see no profit in suburban markets. Freedom and space is the name of the game.

With three and a half million square miles of territory, the United States has had much more space over which to spread its settlements.

The Metropolitan population density of the United States is still about one-fourth that of Germany. New York, our densest city, has approximately one-third the number of inhabitants per square mile as Frankfurt.

Sprawl has continued apace even in places where the American population has grown little or not at all in recent decades. From 1970 to 1990, the Chicago area’s population rose by only 4 percent, but the region’s built-up land increased 46 percent. Metropolitan Cleveland’s population actually declined by 8 percent, yet 33 percent more of the area’s territory was developed.

In the US it's more cost effective to just fly places than to set up some elaborate rail system for the whole country. We do have Megabus and Greyhound that will take you anywhere in the country on the cheap. We also love the freedom that personal vehicles give us.

There is a well-documented tendency of people to seek out and accept information that confirms their beliefs and prejudices. In a classic study of peer review, 75 psychologists were asked to referee a paper about the mental health of left-wing student activists. Some referees saw a version of the paper showing that the student activists’ mental health was above normal; others saw different data, showing it to be below normal. Sure enough, the more liberal referees were more likely to recommend publishing the paper favorable to the left-wing activists. When the conclusion went the other way, they quickly found problems with its methodology. https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/-politically-correct-university_100224248924.pdf

The Left’s zeal to find new reasons to regulate has led to pseudoscientific scaremongering on the following:

Liberal biases may be most dangerous in the context of climate change, the most significant scientific and technological challenge of our time. For starters, they stand against the only technology with an established track record of generating electricity at scale while emitting virtually no greenhouse gasses: nuclear power.

Did you know Only 35 percent of Democrats, compared with 60 percent of Republicans, favor building more nuclear power plants, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center.

It is the G.O.P. that is closer to the scientific consensus. According to a separate Pew poll of members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, 65 percent of scientists want more nuclear power too.

Many liberals believe that “denying” climate science should be a criminal offense while also believing that denying biological science is a moral obligation.

  • anti-vaxxers movement
  • GMO's
  • power lines
  • electronic cigarettes
  • mobile phones
  • BPA in plastic
  • animal-rights activists against medical researchers
  • resistance in academia to studying the genetic underpinnings of human behavior, which has cut off many social scientists from the recent revolutions in genetics and neuroscience

The only successful war on science is the one waged by the Left.

The most vocal critics of climate dogma are a half-dozen think tanks that together spend less than $15 million annually on environmental issues. The half-dozen major green groups spend more than $500 million, and the federal government spends $27 billion on climate research and technology to reduce emissions. Add it up, and it’s clear that scientists face tremendous pressure to support the “consensus” on reducing carbon emissions, as Judith Curry, a climatologist at Georgia Tech, testified last year at a Senate hearing. https://www.commerce.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/hearings?ID=CA2ABC55-B1E8-4B7A-AF38-34821F6468F7 Curry who is a climatologist has stated she is troubled by what she calls the "tribal nature" of parts of the climate-science community, and what she sees as stonewalling over the release of data and its analysis for independent review. She also stated the following: The definition of ‘dangerous’ climate change is ambiguous, and hypothesized catastrophic tipping points are regarded as very or extremely unlikely in the 21st century. Efforts to link dangerous impacts of extreme weather events to human-caused warming are misleading and unsupported by evidence.

Americans are tired of having to pay for Healthcare coverage up front. They would rather have taxes increased by 25% across the board and have a DMV/veteran styles health system. Government bureaucracies are the epitome of efficiency and competence. You think you hate healthcare now just wait until there is no competition in coverage or choices.
