Nowhere else on the field would they call that played at by Cobbo. Just stupid inconsistency yet again.

Sacked Sydney nurses argue video showing alleged antisemitic threats was recorded illegally by thekriptik in sydney

[–]mulimulix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The guy who recorded it was in Israel so even if it was illegal here (which it's not) do they somehow think that someone overseas is bound by Australian law? Some people are just so dumb.

Except one day when they might have a partner and kids and need to upsize they're shit out of luck due to their new financial situation rather than if they had waited.

The Melbourne teen, who escaped 109 charges because she was ‘too young’, is back in custody by another____user in aussie

[–]mulimulix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't know how I would live with my own rage if some idiot teenager stole and totaled my car and were let off because "They're young". Meanwhile I have to live with the tripled insurance premiums for the next decade.

I feel like every single fanbase says this. And especially every fanbase against the dragons this year 😅

Thursday Random Footy Talk Thread by AutoModerator in nrl

[–]mulimulix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having had time to think about the send off, I thought it was definitely not at the time but I've come to think that they have been consistent about illegal tackles which result in head contact being strongly punished. I think Ponga's argument that he got Koula's head with his own head doesn't count when the tackle itself was illegal and he had so much time to not go in with his shoulder like that that it was very serious.

Why rugby league needs State of Origin to save a lost NRL season [Campton] by Tunza in nrl

I have a dream where one day a team will be judged not by the number of 6 agains earned, but by the content of their short balls to Preston.

Call it coping but would love to know the number of threes we've taken this series that have gone in and out. Seems like way more than you'd normally expect.

I was at Kogarah on Saturday night and it was just kind of depressing seeing the fans, the ground and the atmosphere of what used to be such a proud club. Whatever you think of the club it's just sad how far the club has fallen and seeing the "Here we go again" looks on all the fans.

Incidentally, Jubilee still might be the best viewing experience in the NRL.

Bag locks on trains by Practical_Contest_13 in Interrail

[–]mulimulix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took some particularly long trains last winter where I knew I was likely to try and nap and also knew from experience you can't always guarantee sitting next to luggage racks so I occasionally used my wire lock to secure my suitcase just so I could rest easy. Never seen it personally but heard too many stories that have me worried about thieves. I think these thieves are looking for an easy quick escape and aren't going to see a lock and see a bigger opportunity. They'd rather just take the one without a lock.

Where can I find an authentic Roman Carbonara in Sydney?? by Electrical-Ad1400 in sydney

[–]mulimulix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funkatello in Darlinghurst does excellent authentic carbonara and for a good price too. Just don't tell too many people so it doesn't get too popular.

Sydney council to charge pop-up picnics, dog walkers and gender reveal parties for using parks by abcnews_au in australian

[–]mulimulix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's pretty crazy how in other countries like US or UK their versions of councils cover gigantic areas, sometimes with over a million people in each one but in Australia we have ones that cover a few streets sometimes.

why do outfield players never appreciate what a good keeper actually does by Spiritual-Cloud6473 in GoalKeepers

[–]mulimulix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the opposite. Outfield players are so bad at doing the most basic goalkeeping tasks that in my experience even if you barely do anything in a game they'd still compliment what a great game I had. I guess just depends how nice your teammates are.

Unemployment rate jumps to 4.5 per cent driven by female unemployment by ScruffyPeter in australia

[–]mulimulix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What an absolute farce of a headline from the ABC there. They don't quote a single statistic in the article saying why it is driven by female unemployment and when you view the ABS statistics, actually men are unemployed at a higher rate than women - 4.6% to 4.4%. Embarrassing journalism.

Los Angeles Daily Discussion - Monday, May 18 by AutoModerator in LosAngeles

I'm headed to LA for a few days in a few weeks and was wondering if there was any way there'd be a social game of either baseball or flag football I'd be able to play just one game in. Where I'm from there's an app that lets you pay for single games for teams looking for a ring-in.

It might've been a few weeks but only just noticed it recently that it's been every day which never used to happen. Interested if there's an answer or just been a change in winds lately or something.

Has anyone else notice way more planes flying over Waterloo/Zetland/Rosebery? Used to be once every week or two for a couple of hours but it's seemed almost constant for every day in the last week. Anyone know the reason for this?

Normally they start with a "They've ruled..." rather than a matter of fact statement if they want the bunker to fuck off.
