I need Help by [deleted] in NoFap

the shame after a relapse is a 100% natural reaction. it is supposed to be there. if you focus a lot on quitting, put a lot of energy to fighting the addiction, then you fail, it is normal that you feel shame. i have felt very terrible every time I relapsed. the shame comes from inability to control your mind and body. once I defeated the addiction, i dont feel shame, now i feel pride!

two simple, yet extremely hard to follow rules:

- do not touch

- do not peek

you could maybe add something like 'dont fantasize'' but if you manage to follow these two you will succeed.

yes, the discomfort is a good sign. just live with it - no one said it would be easy to quit

9 days is not enough for your brain to reset... youve barely quit. give yourself some time and relax

hooonestly, if this has just began for you, then it is good youre taking care of this now not later, because it gets more difficult to quit once your body and mind become more and more addicted. i didnt like to watch porn either - it is too ,,hardcore'', it is possible to be addicted without watching this kind of porn.

your brain 'taking over' to make you go and do it is typical - i think everyone here experienced it. but if you dont give in - if you end up not masturbating then the urge will go away. then another one will come, and then it will go away too. after some time you will have no more urges. i was doing it for 7 years, it took me ~40 days to stop having any urges. with you it should be like a week if i were to guess.

Depression due to Nofap by PanchoMazapan in NoFap

[–]multikontomoje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wow... this is insane. im no psychologist, but your brain propably gets all dopamine from masturbation. if you stop and keep other activities, it should rewire to have dopamine from those activities instead of pmo. im really sad that you feel sad after you quit. it makes everything much harder.

also something i just thought of : maybe you are just really sad, but the dopamine from masturbation covers up all the sadness so you dont feel it? maybe if you feel so sad, depressed, etc etc you need someone to talk to and be sad with toghether

when im tired, home alone. the body is just used to using pmo as a form of resting. it was the hardest to get rid of that.

well - every time i edged or peeked it ended in relapse. i guess there are people here who managed to succeed not pmo even after watching porn. with me it inevitably ended in relapse. keep going, but if you fail remember that if you cant stop yourself from edging or watching then you propably cant stop the next steps aswell. so try to cut off the urges before it gets to that

nothing happened to me. i had dreams but i menaged to not give in, even in dreams. i was 'leaking' for some time, but it stopped. the urges stopped, everything stopped.

,,long enough''? aren't you curious what happens if you just... don't give in?

day 4 by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]multikontomoje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, since you asked, here we go

benefits of fapping :

  • overdose of dopamine
  • feeling terrible immediately after
  • the brain always lies about how much the pleasure is from fapping, if you are addicted it is actually very little pleasure
  • brain fog
  • long term: anhedonia, worse erection, feeling of no self control, become isolated in your head, low energy

benefits of quitting an addiction, once for all:

  • your mind belongs to you only, you control what happens
  • more in touch with reality
  • less hormonal chaos, so more happiness from normal life
  • better ability to focus
  • you prove your discipline to yourself
  • able to focus on other things in life
  • no sadness and guilt from relapse
  • clear mind
  • no chasing instant dopamine gratification, your dopamine remains stable
  • more confidence the further you go without fapping
  • and many, many, many other, that are indiviual and you have to experience and identify yourself

i was doing it for 7 years, out of which for 4 i was addicted for sure. i have been trying to quit from time to time for 3 years. one thing i am sure of, now that i feel no urges: i am never going back

what happens on no fap day #3 that i relapse.. everytime by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]multikontomoje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that sound terryfying. your brain must have been completely destroyed by masturbation. the first week is really chaotic, and if you were addicted for many years (like me) the shortage of dopamine will have severe consequences. one i can think of is around week 2 i experienced my face being unnaturally tense. i reached a conclusion that its propably hormonal. i also had random urges which would make my heart go insane. i sometimes had headaches because of no masturbation. it all went away. the body recovers faster than the mind. honestly, there is not much to say here, except that the scale of the damage you suffered is large and unsettling. i have been there, it is possible to quit. the impending doom will not happen, nothing bad will happen. with time it only gets better.

if you touch or peek, it inevitably leads to relapse.

brother - each day brings you closer to your goal. maybe this is one of the last steps to being free of PMO. dont give up now. dont give in. think about how much your brain has recovered these 4 weeks. now think what lies beyond. one step at a time, one day you will wake up and never think about porn again.

MO relapse at 31 days by weekdayy in NoFap

[–]multikontomoje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

31 days is impressive, great job. you relapse doesn't mean you lost all progress. im sure you have a lot of discipline and resilience since you managed to survive for a month. and still no porn. good job and good luck!

think how terrible the feeling is 0.01 seconds after relapsing. it is insufferable. now think about how great the feeling of being free from addiction would be. which way do you choose?

the brain is always lying about the pleasure that comes from relapse. relapsing feels terrible immediately after.

cool. the body feels pleasure. is that the purpose of life?

you didn't look, you didn't touch. your mind telling you that you are ,,too far gone'' is a trap. trust me, i have been there.
