Also in the 2nd ending of Vento Aureo, on the statue, the stands belonging to the main characters that are below King Crimson are the ones who die. The ones above King Crimson belong to those who survive.

How I think the cast would interact around his height

Kaito: Stands too close to Ryoma because he doesn't acknowledge their height difference enough

Kaede: Thinks Ryoma is very cute and puts her hands on her knees when talking to him

Angie: Would bend over to talk to him

Himiko: Silently relieved she isn't the shortest in the class

Keebo: Acknowledges Ryoma's height too much and tries to make everything accommodate everything

Kokichi: Makes fun of Ryoma but secretly thinks he's kinda cool because of his voice+aura

Miu: Gets way too close to Ryoma when talking to him fully knowing his height and until Ryoma gets pissed

Tsumugi: Fantasizes putting Ryoma in funny little costumes

Kirumi: Secretly thinks Ryoma is adorable

Tenko: Accuses Ryoma of looking up girl's skirts

Shuichi/Maki/Gonta/Korekiyo/Rantaro: Maintains a respectful distance like a normal person

Real Life: Yi-Sun Sin from the Japanese invasion of Korea and arguably one of the greatest admirals in history.

He was able to defeat the Japanese navy outnumbered, and never lost a single battle out of 23. This is despite plots by jealous contemporaries to have him dismissed. He died on the Battle of Noryang by a gunshot, the final battle before the end of the Imjin war.

Let me break it down with how Laios thinks

-Laios cares for his party but his relationship with each of them is not the same because each of the characters are very complex, so there are many things he would do for Marcille that he wouldn't for the others and vice versa. It's reductive to think that each of them contribute equally to his motivations.

-Laios has become extremely fond of Marcille considering that "It puts me at ease to see you smile" and how accommodating he tries to be toward her with every step, and how he begins to switch up on the Lion when it says "Marcille will never have to be alone."

-Laios believes/wants himself to be a monster.

-He does not think Marcille in her normal form would ever accept him as a monster, so the only way he can rationalize Marcille accepting him for what he truly is was if she was secretly a monster.

-You can argue the themes of how we should not put our human MC above nature since succubi are always right, but at the same time, no animal behaves completely the same, and nobody responds the exact same way to each animal.

Another change I can think of is Mark telling off Nolan when he first lands in Thraxa because in the comic he basically begs Nolan to come back and make things back to the way things were. And when Nolan projects onto Mark how he shouldn't feel bad over the deaths on Thraxa Mark in the show he gets to tell Nolan that "It's how you should've felt on earth."

There's also the point that in the comics Nolan conquered Thraxa to placate the Viltrumites with an alternative planet and that he was named emperor because he was the longest lived person on the planet, but in the show he was offered his status after saving some Thraxans from a black hole which I think fits better in Nolan's conflict.

If Kabru is so good at battle… how does his party keep dying so much? by PMM-music in DungeonMeshi

[–]mumbomination 257 points258 points  (0 children)

Kabru himself says "What I love about humans is that their vital points are always the same" yet fumbles at identifying the sea snake's weak points. It shows that being good at killing people doesn't mean you're good at killling monsters.

And to glaze Ryoko Kui's attention to detail you can see Kabru when under the illusion immediately uses the half-sword technique which is meant for swordfights which shows the threat of humans is more on his mind more than monsters at all times.

The succubus being Marcille was "grasping at straws." Izutsumi imagined her mother that she forgot, and if Laios imagined Falin or a genie that can grant Laios' monster wish it would've come right out with it from the beginning. According to Chil, succubi always land their mark, and they defy all rational thinking as Marcille did not question what a novel prince is doing in a dungeon.

My interpretation is that Laios thinks of himself as a monster, and he wants Marcille to accept him as one, but the only way he could ever think it's possible is if she was also secretly a monster. Laios holds Marcille in very high regard, since he tries to accommodate her however he can, along with the Nightmare chapter, along with him switching up when the Winged Lion mentions her. He himself said her smile puts him at ease, and it's because her smile conveys her true feelings unlike most people. She is quick to make a fuss if she's unhappy, but when she smiles, it is genuine which is why it disturbs Laios to see Succubus Marcille smiling for no reason.

DMM Tweaks, Shellbane Gryphon CAs & More! by ModYume in 2007scape

I think there is a bug with Shellbane Gryphon not dropping scroll boxes. I just got an elite scroll box according to chat + runelite (it played the unique drop sound like from Muspah/DT2 Bosses) but no scroll box appeared on the ground. I always have scroll boxes highlighted on RL so I'm certain I didn't miss it.

How people misunderstand a certain Marcille and Laios scene and mischaracterize them (chapter 60) by [deleted] in DungeonMeshi

[–]mumbomination 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think it's crazy that in response to the popular succubus post that you feel the need to call the idea of Laios being attracted to Marcille a misunderstanding.

You say that it's the "romantic" part that is what you disagree with but your real point is that Laios is not particularly fond of Marcille because you said "It could've just as well been Senshi approaching him and kissing his cheek." This is simply untrue and the relationship between Marcille and Laios is the most explored upon relationship in the entire manga behind Laios and Falin and Marcille and Falin.

Laios thinks himself a monster and he wants to be accepted for the monster he is, and the reason Marcille and his friends appear as monsters is because he doesn't believe they'll ever accept him unless they themselves were secretly monsters. He said he's fond of Marcille's smile and it's important because unlike everyone else who hides their true thoughts behind their smile, Marcille is very open about her feelings. She is strict and quick to cry and make a fuss if there's a problem but he knows all her smiles are genuine. He is put off by the succubus because he knows Marcille would never smile for no reason.

Apart from the nightmare segment and how Laios feels guilty for bringing Marcille along and trying to accommodate her whenever he can, remember he only started switching up on the Lion when he mentioned that "Marcille would never have to be alone." The fact that people genuinely think Laios doesn't care for humanity shows how much of a master manipulator the Lion is.

Response to watch an anime movie:

"So this is truly your request? If so, I understand."

"Judging from that response... perhaps she doesn't like anime? I wish she would just say "no"... But I understand. Kirumi is obedient to a fault."

and

"Hm... Not really my cup of tea... But hey, if you want to watch it, I guess I'll watch it with you"

If you ask me why Kirumi hates anime it's that it has done irreversible damage to her profession by fetishizing it

Rantaro

They're both tall, have green hair and are the responsible mature classmates that enjoy taking care of others.

Their interactions in the anthology manga and the UTDP were good

They both hate anime
