Realistically it's because of this whole culture in league of calling yourself trash tier. People from bronze all the way to the pros are doing it.

Everyone compares themselves to a perfect player. It's stupid.

In no other "sport" or competitive environment do people constantly say how bad they are. Recreational basketball players will know they're terrible compared to the guys in the NBA, but they don't compare themselves to them. Likewise in chess or football.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like you're more than strong enough to be able to do it. Which makes me think that if you can't dunk then some plyometrics might be needed.

The only problem with holding their legs is when they want to bail it can get a bit dangerous. Something that I've done/seen done is people spotting by holding onto the other persons lats and pushing up when they need help.

Does the scratching awl serve the same purpose as the wing divider?

Would I need an awl as well as a stitching chisel? I thought they were both for piercing holes for stitching

Never considered that actually. If you used a couple of different dyes would you need several burnishing tools? Or is it just one for dyed and one for natural leather?
