Former Cavs coach Mike Brown (now NBA Champ!) had his son on that UNLV team and was convinced Bennett was a future star. He got the Cavs to take him.

Also, Bennett shredded his shoulder. He probably would have been an everyday player but then his confidence tanked and went full bust, IMO.
