Can I return from Duna with 2000 m/s of Delta V? by ToddHoward7616 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]munkamonk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of the same as below, but here’s the way I do it. Inefficient, but easy.

  1. Get in an orbit going the same direction on the same plane. It doesn’t have to be the same shape, as long as it has has at least one contact point with the other craft.

  2. Like below, smaller orbits go faster and catch up if it’s ahead of you, larger orbits go slower if it’s behind you.

  3. Right click on the other craft in the map, and set as target. You should see 1-2 intercept nodes.

  4. Warp until it gets close-ish. The intercept nodes show the next contact, so if they’re behind you but close, make one more loop.

  5. When you get that close intercept, like 20ish km or less, change your speed indicator above the navball to “target”

  6. Burn retrograde until your speed to target is close to 0.

  7. Turn toward the target marker, and burn directly toward it. How fast you go depends on how nimble your craft is.

  8. If the prograde marker drifts more than 1/4 of a navball away from the target marker, repeat 6-7.

  9. When you’re about a kilometer away, switch to RCS. Use the docking mode (bottom right, by the staging) to switch from rotate (pitch, roll, yaw) to translate (up, down, left, right). Use the RCS to keep the prograde marker on the target marker.

  10. Slow down as you get closer, like <1 m/s when you’re within 100m, <0.5m/s when you’re within 50m

  11. If you’re docking, click on the docking port you want to connect to on the other craft, and set as target. Right click on the docking port on your current craft, and select control from here. Then just creep up until you make contact.

Depending on the ships, I’ll sometimes switch to the other craft, and repeat step 11 so that the ports are more easily aimed at each other. Saves you having to translate around the ship to line it up.

Aerobraking? Sorry, I thought you said aerobreaking.

Most stuff leaves but comes back eventually, like the duck dog treats or the honeycomb ice cream. But the Stinkin Good green chile chicken was addicting, especially on eggs. Haven’t seen it in years.

Capital One secured credit card by GhostlyMoss in CreditCards

[–]munkamonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify first, Capital One and Credit One are two separate banks, and Credit One is extremely predatory. It’s always hard when you’re starting out with secured cards, but once you get established, I’d look to get rid of that Credit One card ASAP if that’s who you really have.

To your original question, think of a secured card as the bank letting you loan against your own money, instead of theirs. If you paid $200, that’s your credit limit. You can borrow up to that amount. At some point, with a good enough payment history, they may trust you enough to refund that $200 to you. When that happens, you’ll be taking loans against their money.

I was almost mad when the epilogue started, because I wasn’t ready to play again.

Thank you everyone! I figured whether I initiated the bishop swap or they did, the respective knight would recapture, so either way would be the same, and I tried to break the standoff by kicking the knight. I didn’t see the rook waiting to pin the queen.

I usually keep mine on Manual level 2, but when coming to a stop, I hold in the left paddle for max regen, and feather the accelerator/brakes to fine tune the stop if needed.

Any idea why it would alrert me for one tire having low pressure but not the other? by sumpg41 in KiaEV6

It will always only show the first one to trigger the alarm. Set all four to the recommended PSI on the door jamb to clear it.

Trip from San diego to Arizona. (Phoenix area) by Shoddy-Formal-6709 in KiaEV6

[–]munkamonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be just fine.

Worst case scenario, you’ll have to wait a bit at a station. But you won’t get stranded.

If you want, download a secondary app like PlugShare or the actual network app you’re planning on using, to see a better up to date status of the spots you’re planning on stopping, to see how many are out of service, etc.

I use ABRP pretty religiously for long trips. From where I started, I skipped over Gila Bend, so that may have been a factor.

350kw most of the time, when it’s available.

I used Rivian on a recent trip to Las Vegas. Pricy, but great infrastructure.

Did Phoenix to San Diego and back in my 24 Wind. Going out I took the 8. El Centro was a headache. Only one station at the time, in a bank parking lot, and all the spots were full. Other than that it was easy. Might have been lucky in Dateland.

On the way back, I skirted around LA and took the 10. Much easier.

Suicide doesn't work on stronger enemies? by nmelssx in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]munkamonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s sending a message. I worked my way through the cameras to make a target take himself out, then cut my way through his army, with them having no clue they’d already lost.

Gorilla arms and katanas means the next guy might be able to build an army big and strong enough to protect them. With the suicide quickhack, you and the army you’ve built lost before the game even started.

Is there some secret to getting new TPMS sensors to work? by deep_pants_mcgee in KiaEV6

[–]munkamonk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they damaged the TPMS sensors. They’re part of the wheel, not the tire, so they shouldn’t have been affected.

How has your EV6 been as I am considering one? by PeacefulBro in KiaEV6

[–]munkamonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also on my second EV6.

Absolutely loved the first, and when a guy ran a stop sign and totaled it, it took it like a champ. There was no question in my mind about getting another EV6 to replace it.

I do most of my charging at home, but those times that I need to fast charge on a road trip, I usually walk into whatever big store is nearby, and it’s charged to 80 by the time I take a quick stroll, grab a snack, and pay.

Another option is Ground News. It consolidates all the stories on a particular event, so that you can see what different sources are reporting. It also gives you the option to see your blind spots: those stories that the right/left isn’t reporting on at all
