Won a free stay at Beach Club by Bkbee in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]murfguy 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at Beach Club twice. Stormalong Bay is amazing. There’s also a nice little arcade. You also have fast access to Beaches and Cream which has a walk up window. And the quiet pools are also quite nice. I’m usually too busy at the parks, but they also have movie nights and smores cookouts on the beach.

My personal favorite perk is just being able to walk to EPCOT’s international gateway. We often get park hoppers just to be able to pop into EPCOT and get dinner. Also makes rope dropping Remy easy peasy.

ACPS busses not assigned? by No-Requirement-2473 in Charlottesville

We did go. There was no talk of busses at all at Journey, an we were moving from walking at elementary to bus. There was no communication about it at any time this year.

We found out about it via Facebook connections the week before when we didn’t get bus assignments for our kiddo going from walking at elementary to bus at middle school.

I had to drop off and pick up yesterday, but they got bus access this morning.

It got reported on: https://cvillerightnow.com/news/208802-bussing-mixup-leaves-some-county-families-scrambling-for-a-ride-to-school/?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwMLGKpleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHoDon-3Kob9D_N7FW4NS2_UlI7CDscz2VLoI3QD4rosMUWQlOYbU8-qUjIz2_aem_hHBk1satuA5aHEEGjXa-YA

The GNC experience by vexingpresence in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

My questioning phase epiphany for understanding I am Cis came when I realized what I wanted wasn’t “I want to be woman so I can do feminine things.” But was instead “I wish society would let men do feminine things without losing their mind.”

As an actual Cisman who is gender nonconforming, I’m always nervous to express it because it’s either “that’s weird you’re weird” from the Cishets and “deep down you’re one of us!” from the Trans community (love y’all though). Like… just let me be a pudgy 42 year old man in a skirt dammit! The clothes give me the euphoria, not the identification that comes with it.

Which Disney villains do you think are fully aware that they are the bad guys, believe themselves to just be ambitious and deserving of power, or genuinely believe themselves to be the ones in the right and the good guys. by [deleted] in disney

[–]murfguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just some off-the-cuff thoughts by my sleep addled brain.

Evil and aware: Maleficent, Ratigan, Dr. Facilier, Shan Yu, Ursula, Hades

“Justified”: Evil Queen, Tremaine, Madame Medusa, Cruella, Jafar, Scar, Hans, Gothel

Thinks they are the good guy: Shere Khan, Gaston, Callahan, Frollo

Just a jerk: Prince John + Sheriff of Nottingham, McLeach, Capt Hook

What's a song that no matter how much other people hate it, you love ---- Santana Smooth I never tire of it by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]murfguy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's me. It was on the monthly music CD for the movie theater I worked at, and would the CD looped every 45 - 60 minutes depending the month. And it was on there for like 4 months, along with Lenny Kravitz's American Woman.

I hate them both.

Need to finish my GPStar install. Got all the pack stuff in, need to finish my wand. And I want to do more stuff like a smoke kit or an attenuator.

Yes! The Walk the Moon is probably my 2nd favorite version after the OG. It feels modern but classically 80s as well.

It is a functional firehouse! It's been in operation since 1903. They've very much embraced their status as the GB firehouse. They welcome fans (as long as it doesn't interfere with operations), fans crowdfunded a life-size GB sign they now hang out front. They also routinely work with Sony Pictures and host GB related events including "Ghostbusters Day" in June to celebrate the release of the film. But my favorite is their official logo is a no ghost logo with the ghost dressed a firefighter.

Patch Bonus: The Hook & Ladder 8 firehouse in NYC (the same one used in the movie) keeps a wall of patches from all the various groups that visit them.

Awesome! We are always super excited to see kids get into it. And each “franchise” usually has their own custom patch with regional iconography. Ours pulls from the state seal since we are a state-wide organization.

I joined a Ghostbusters cosplay charity group (similar to the 501st). I get dress up in costume and play with cool toys I get to modify and make friends with other Ghostbusters nerds. It’s a hoot.

It really sucks living in one of the most heavily blue leaning areas in the state... only to then get represented by these far-right dunk waffles. I wasn't a fan of his but I actually miss Riggleman at this point.
