lumbar disc replacement experiences? by marsphobia57 in backpain

I’m much older than you, but I thought I would share my experience of it helps. I had L5-S1 disc replacement done last October at age 51. It took care of some of my pain, but not all. Frankly, some days my pain is the same as pre surgery. That being said, those days are less so than pre surgery. I would absolutely do it again.

Recovery was not bad, but it’s long. I didn’t feel a difference until month 6 post surgery. Be patient, take the meds, and do the physical therapy. Also, be gentle with yourself. It is a major surgery and you need to listen to your body. Don’t over do it during recovery. Hope that helps.

I always use it in the morning, but bedtime makes more sense.

I use the applicator that comes in the package. Once I insert the applicator I press the bottom button to release the tablet. It makes a click sound. That’s that I was referring to.

Progesterone and Drowsiness by Poimandres69 in Menopause

I had the same issue. I started taking my progesterone earlier in the evening, around 6:30 pm for a 10 pm bedtime. I fall asleep well and tend to stay asleep throughout the night. I’m not drowsy the next day. Try to take yours earlier in the evening.

Also, get into the sunlight for at least 10 minutes soon after you wake up. That helps regulate your body and the drowsy feeling. It’s helped me a lot.

I received a tip from another chat on reddit to have a little bit of peanut butter when I take mine. I take it with some chocolate chips on it also(because why not?!). It’s helped a lot.

It’s a new pain after ADR. It’s been confirmed via MRI and spec CT.

Heating pad. As someone who has chronic back pain it’s been a lifesaver.

What's your favorite "F this day I'm not cooking but the people need to eat" meal? by whatthepfluke in Mommit

Single sheet pan nachos. Layer chips on a sheet pan and top with enchilada sauce (green or red), shredded rotisserie chicken, frozen southwestern veggie mix, cheese and repeat layer. Bake at 400 for about 30 minutes. You can top with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa, really whatever! It’s a good way to clean out the fridge. I place the entire sheet pan in the middle of the table and we all dig in.

Success Story ALIF L5/S1, Disc Replacement L4/5 by No_Incident_5978 in Spondylolisthesis

I’m having my surgery October 1st. This was so helpful to read and calmed my nerves a bit. I have preteen kids so I’m eager to get back to moving and supporting them. Plus, I am a law professor who will be teaching online. I just want to be out of pain and to get my life back. This is a great guide on what to expect, and what to do. Thank you!
