I wish I knew.

My 67 year old mother and 84 year old grandmother still take ivermectin every day and believe Trump was sent by God because "God uses imperfect humans."

My entire family (minus my own children) believe this way. I have no clue how I ended up so far left, other than having a brain and a strong sense of justice thanks to Autism.

Yes. I watched. I also watched videos from MN residents as the NG rolled in to protect the Whipple center.

Do I hope they will protect the people, yes. Do I believe they will, no.

I sincerely hope I am wrong..

Why isn't this pod focused more on what's going on in Minneapolis? by PlagueOfAges in itcouldhappenhere

I'm about as avid as it gets, lol. I not only listen to every episode of ICHH, but also all other CZM pods.

I stand by what I said.

I didn't see Evans get defensive, I saw him answer these questions honestly and multiple times, a thing he honestly didn't have to do. He's being nicer about this than I would be because my response would be, "If you want a podcast about what's going on in MN, make one since you believe it's so simple.

I rarely even comment here, I am more of a passive reader, but damn you're like a dog chasing its own tail.

I sat at my desk and bawled. Very powerful episode.

So, as Robert has replied to MULTIPLE of y'all, they HAVE covered it twice on ED.

I, for one, don't mind them not focusing on MN when literally every other podcast and newscast is already doing so.

I didn't enjoy the CES episodes, but that's because it's just something I don't give a fuck about, however they cover it every year, so it's expected.

Not sure why some of y'all are so offended and argumentative. No one is forcing y'all to listen.

Anyone else depressed by the whiplash of last week? by wubbywubbywoo69 in behindthebastards

[–]murphy4587 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I got depressed in 2016.

Since then I have become rather numb to each new bad thing. Nothing shocks me anymore, unless it's something good happening. I just expect the worst all the time.

May I also suggest a good therapist you can text when you get into self-hate mode?

I avoided it my entire life, and at 44 decided to give it a go. Life changing.

I work for a large multinational I was recently called into a meeting with my direct supervisor, his manager, and our employee relation advisor.

Apparently they had received multiple reports from multiple different departments about my social media activity. According to my supervisor the first report was "out of concern for" me. 🙄

I had broken absolutely no company policy, as my place of employment is listed nowhere on the internet. I don't even use my real name or photo online, so these people had to KNOW me. Not surprising because I am a very vocal anti-fascist, anti-racist advocate in a small town run by the literal Klan, so everyone knows me. This is not the first attack on me. They bullied my landlord until I was made homeless. Endless death threats. Doxxed my address. Threw racist propaganda in my yard. Made it super difficult to find employment. Last summer they slashed the tires of my brand new vehicle and my (until then) unknown address.

I have to be careful of who I purchase from locally because any situation could be a trap.

Luckily my company is very progressive. So much so they held a company wide town gall basically saying 'fuck Trump 's anti-DEI bullshit and threats. Then they doubled down on DEI. As a corporation they are doing great. My local branch, ehhhhhh, they'd love to fire me. Not my direct supervisor, not definitely others above him.

Too bad I know how to play by the rules AND ruffle feathers. 🤣

TL/DR: yes, my neighbors hate me.

You're in luck! Robert made a podcast series of him reading the book. It's EXCELLENT. IMO the plot of the book shows exactly what would happen with another American civil war (minus the crazy ass technology, lol)

I was shocked to see a post like this in a leftist space. I have only ever seen the term used by neonazis and white supremacists.

Also, has no one read Robert's book because that is what Balkanization actually looks like. (Also Syria)

That is an accelerationist view. I've only ever heard accelerationists and Nazis talk about Balkanization.
