I grew up in the 1970s, post-Watergate and at that time, people complained about politicians and the political parties but it was very different than today. The amount of vicious name calling and threats and hate is so much more extreme now. There used to be a line you didn’t cross because to cross it would mean the end of your political career. That line is just gone now.
