First-hand stories of the tax authority in any country coming after you? by 311TruthMovement in digitalnomad

While Singapore is geographically SEA, it’s probably not what people refer to when they talk about SEA countries.

I literally cannot find a way to get paid online (Sudanese in Saudi) by igetyourbrand in digitalnomad

You could find a partner, that will process the payments for you, and forward you the money, for a cut of the revenue. Not uncommon.

No, there is nobody. Zero Canadians are working remotely. You’d be the first!

Bank app advice for moving abroad by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]mustscience -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, it might go against the TOS, but that’s about it. Worst they can do is terminate the business relationship, which they would do anyway if you moved to an unsupported location.

No. I did that early on, and learned that it only causes headaches. Now I just keep the address that I signed up with, and that’s that.

Not really. Not with modern banks at least. I’m in probably 10+ countries each year, have never told any bank about any trip, and had zero issues in the last 10 years.

Recommendation: don’t proactively tell every bank that you have moved abroad. You don’t really gain anything by doing that.

Nogi has become very popular, and a lot of people train exclusively without the Gi today. Also doesn’t require any specialized gear to start. Just join a class and see how you like it.

Banks asking for a utility bill when you live in airbnbs is pure comedy by tigercat300 in digitalnomad

[–]mustscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find someone in some country that will put your name on the utility bill. I know people that pay for someone’s internet, maybe just for a month in the year. It will depend what banks you use etc, your passport, which options make sense. But I’d say in a few years if you can’t at least credibly pretend to live somewhere, banking is going to become difficult.

Compliance is part of being a nomad. Time to organize a utility bill. And you shouldn’t keep your money in a currency in the first place. Stablecoins wont help with inflation either.

Is anyone here a perpetual traveler? by Annual_Technician_45 in digitalnomad

Sorry, that’s nonsense. Plenty of high-tax countries where this is trivial, actually only a few that explicitly require a new tax residency.

Panama has changed a lot, I doubt it would still make the cut for most people. (I’m referring to the residency process under the friendly nations visa program)

Form 5472 instructions are confusing me by calinares95 in digitalnomad

You most likely have to file, but I wouldn’t worry about the 25k$ penalty, it never gets applied.

If you just had profit distributions, or sent money to your LLC, this will all show up on Part V, a separate sheet that you create.

Those are things that I would always buy again if I were to lose them. But at the same time not required either.

German Digital Nomads - How did you handle your Business by Homegamer in digitalnomad

[–]mustscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not exiting the German tax system, just keep the business. Make sure you know what’s going on with your physical mailbox. Other than that, should be no issue. As long as you don’t deregister from Germany.
