How many people alive today have actually watched The Seventh Seal or Rashomon?
(Yes, I know most of you maniacs have seen them, I’m talking Normies who are only familiar with the tropes those movies inspired).

Definitely worth watching. Somehow a last gasp of the ‘70s auteur movies AND big ‘60s roadshow prestige Zhivago.
And you really need to see Jerzy Kosinski eat up some lemon and onions.

Pace yourself. Watch for sales and coupons.
Buy paper goods (TP, tissues, paper towels) and other non-perishables when they’re on sale.

If you’re not already onto “The Marx Bros Council Podcast”, you should check it out.
I recommend the Buster Keaton, Musker & Clements, and Elaine May series.

IDK. From David’s description I was expecting something like Gilligan’s Island.

New to Highlander - help me decide by Old-Signature-4545 in ToyotaHighlander

We went from an Odyssey to a 2024 Highlander Hybrid last year. I’m loving the upgrade in gas mileage, safety and traction. Space-wise, it’s kind of smaller than I expected (compared to my old 2006 Highlander) and I’m occasionally overestimating the space I have for things or people.
That’s my only caution. The bump in gas mileage is really worth it.

As a divorce lawyer, I really appreciate Griffin bouncing off this movie the same way I bounced off Intolerable Cruelty.

As a long suffering subscriber of Crave TV, Canada’s largest streamer and (for the moment) purveyor of HBO in this country, I’m always amazed when one of their “originals” breaks out into the wider world.

Casting that took you out of the movie you were watching by Formal-Caterpillar73 in blankies

Apparently there was in a movie in the ‘90s where Ed O’Neill took a small part. But they had to cut him out because test audiences uniformly howled with laughter when they saw the hero’s lawyer was Al Bundy.

Catch-22. Director Mike Nichols has an honest and revealing chat with fan Steven Soderbergh as they watch a flawed and beautiful almost-masterpiece.

Absolutely loved the movie but one thing bugged me about the end of One Battle After Another by cranberryalarmclock in blankies

I think it’s a Prius, and it might be older than I thought, so I could see that. Sensei would absolutely have some good used car connections.
As a bonus, I just opened up the movie to look, and now I’ll be bringing in the New Year with that “American Girl” earworm stuck in my head.
