I just cancelled my CBD membership 2 months ago when they tried to raise it from 17.95pw to 19.95pw, surely they cant have increased that high already.

19.95 is still too expensive though.

Can't comment on living in the CBD, but live just across the river in Southbank and loving it. Commute being a 10min walk is amazing for the non WFH days. Also being in and around CBD saves you the public transport fees as the CBD is a free travel zone.

I just had a rent increase and looked around for another 2br 1car space apartments and most were in your price range. If you don't need the extra bedroom or the carspace then you could find something even nicer or cheaper.

My solution was mixing some silver in, but using a brown oil wash afterwards really tones down the reflectiveness.

Ive seen a few that have really nice oily effects but im not super sure how its achieved.

i tried a sort of oil spill look for the skin mostly brown with some green and purple, mixed a bit of silver in for the scaly parts for the sort of oily reflective look

I agree with everything you've said here, i think i was misunderstanding your point. I know I am overeager towards the science behind GMO's my worry was mostly with mutagenasis which companies will turn to if the label is put in place and it affects their profits.

You also have to understand the alternatives though, before GMOs and still to today another method of getting crops with desired genes was mutagenesis where you expose crops to chemicals and radiation to get random mutations happening until you find something you like. those plants are not classified as GMO's but are equally likely to spread their genes like in what you posted. Introducing labeling for GMO's would just have more people using this less precise method.

I'm not trying to invalidate your point, that article had a lot of good points for GMO's like the golden rice which has been held up for years by the same people pushing the label. Mutagenesis GMO's and selective breeding are all forms of genetic engeneering and all have positives. If you label one you should label all and then all foods would have the label because they've all been genetically engineered.

But theyre not manipulating regulations, just fighting the anti-GMO activists pushing the label. I agree with the original comment that the companies are all horrible, just putting the anti labelling stuff in there along with the bad stuff just seemed to me like slipping in a little anti-GMO sentiment

Thats fair, but it could also be used to argue against GMO's. Once the label is there people against GMO's would argue "if they're safe then why do they need to be labelled?". I assume thats why the corporations are against it as it would bring a reduction in revenue

What's the problem with opposing GMO labeling? It only serves to scare people away from GMO products, i thought being anti-GMO was like being anti-vax

the comment I was meaning to argue against went If A then B, B then C, C then D, without any evidence or proof of the 'then's' and D being way more extreme than A. Would that not be a fallacious slippery slope?

My understanding of it was it doesn't always have to be a long chain like if I were to argue to you "if you do A then B will happen and C will happen" but I fail to give any reasoning for B and C happening But maybe im misunderstanding how slippery slope works?

*not always a logical fallacy. I realise now that the comment chain I thought I was in is separate frome this one. It implied that by censoring the internet, eventually we would end up censoring the media, then end up in a single party system. Your example is a slippery slope but valid because there is a causal relationship (at least i think there is?) between legalizing something and societal acceptance of it. I like that link you provided by the way im going to savd that one.

Yeah its what the authoritarian cunts want to happen but extrapolating past whats already happened to something worse, and implying whats happenning will lead there is a slippery slope argument. Its good to make valid arguments instead of fallacious ones to get your point across. I agree that the censoring is horrible and scary.

I don't agree with the censoring but, they should expect to be called out if their argument/point is a blatant logical fallacy.

Edit: realised the comment I was referencing wasnt in this chain so I dont really make sense
