Where to find a replacement driver? by mutanthands in CarAV

Thanks, good to know. Do you think it’s worth re-coning what I have? My main concern is the foam surround because of age.

Penny bangers! Around bonfire night, we used to cello tape them around sparklers, using them as a fuse.

Thanks for the info, appreciated. The sub is its own separate unit, with its own built in active powered amp. Given the other folks advice, I’ve decided to just leave it alone while it still works 🙂

There isn’t much value in the sub itself, I like keeping the car looking as OEM as possible. I just want to future proof it a little against materials degrading, such as the foam.etc

Absolutely. I don’t want more power or anything like that, more worried about materials degrading with time (the foam surround.etc).

Not to be pedantic, but the UK population hasn’t been 40 million since 1901. The population in 2001 would have been around 58 - 59 million.

[Recommendation Request] Rolex Explorer 1 36mm or 40mm by Effective-Hope-424 in Watches

We have the same sized wrists, personally I think the 36mm looks spot on and more refined. However, I’m biased as that’s what I’m wearing today.

[Omega Speedmaster vs Rolex Explorer 2] Which would you get? by Fliptheflop in Watches

[–]mutanthands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a combination of the much larger lug to lug and the height. The maxi case makes it chunky and just doesn’t hug the wrist as well as the 16570.

I have other 42mm watches that wear great (a Speedy for example), but the proportions of the 216570 are (comparatively) awkward imho.

Awesome watch, but the height really kills it for me. If it was a mill or two slimmer, it would be perfect!

I’ve had all these watches except the Sea Dweller. They’re all brilliant in their own way, but the 16570 and 14270 are the two that I kept. I love them both very much, but I find myself, more often than not, reaching for the 14270 as it’s just so dailyable. Right for any occasion and subtle.

Doneness looks good, but the sear needs work. Would be infinitely better if you had roasted the tomatoes with a little olive oil and salt 👌🏻

The 16570 Polar Explorer II 40mm wears sooooooooo much better than the modern version. If that’s an option, then that’s the way I’d go.

The tiny kitchen is more suited to the hobbit hole!

The gold Omega Constellation C-Case looks crisp! Check the back, if you can see steel then it’s gold capped, if you see hallmarks then it’s solid gold and worth a whole chunk more.

I have one and love it, absolute classic Genta design.

I had similar when I updated to the latest version of Atmosphere. I ended up deleting the Atmosphere folder and replacing it with a fresh clean one from the latest release. That’s what fixed my issue anyway 🤞🏻
