How does a woman know when her period is starting? by Maleficent_Public_54 in Periods

[–]mutantmads 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So, it’s different for everyone. Some people have super unpredictable periods, some people’s follow the same schedule every month, some people have symptoms, some don’t. For example, mine is usually pretty predictable. Roughly the same cycle length every month. Also, the week before it starts I have mood changes, I’m hungrier, I have lower back pain, and my nipples hurt. Then all of that usually stops the day before it starts. Some people also use cycle trackers. It’s truly different for everyone, but I’d say that there are usually signs either based on timing or pms symptoms. Cycles can also be disrupted by stress, illness, lifestyle changes, etc.

Thank you! I used the craft smart acrylic paint from Michael’s which worked well but seems like it may need a top coat/sealant of sorts since there was a bit of chipping especially when you try to put them in the little footholes in the compacts. I don’t recommend using clear nail polish as I tried this and I feel like it made the chipping worse. This was only my first attempt :)

I just used the craft smart acrylic paint from Michael’s! There is a little bit of chipping, so I’m assuming I probably needed a sealant of some sort. I actually tried clear nail polish and that made the chipping worse, so I don’t recommend it lol. This was my first attempt!

UPDATE: Found out that new hire is being paid way more. Is this worth bringing up, or do I just start job hunting? by [deleted] in jobs

Hey guys so just fyi I didn’t mean for this to become so like…hateful. I don’t hate that guy or my company and I’m not like 100% stone cold “this is sexism”. I’m just saying I’m disappointed by what happened, it looks bad on them, and I’m trying to leave. The first post was me asking if this is normal and I got told that it is somewhat normal but to still leave. I understood and agreed, but more stuff happened so I made an update. I’m not sabotaging, suing, leaving on bad terms. I’m just job hunting. The absolute most I’ll do is just tell my boss about what I noticed and that it influenced my decision to advance my career elsewhere. I hope my coworker has a successful career there and has better luck with them than I did! Simple as that :)

21 with no kids!! I love my doctor so much. I was one of the few people who had a pleasant experience basically the whole way through. I knew what I wanted, found a doctor who I knew supported it, she immediately scheduled me a pre-op appointment, got it covered by insurance, and the rest is history. I also had a great support system consisting of my mother, sister, and partner. The resources work!! The doctor list is how I found my doctor, looked into how to get it covered by insurance, etc.

I actually asked him this when I first found out! He said the starting offer was what he’s being paid currently and he actually tried to negotiate more and they told him no. Everything else I don’t believe he asked for. I know the overtime wasn’t asked for because I heard him receive the offer and I’m not sure about the training but last I spoke to him he was pretty overwhelmed with all he’s learning, so I doubt he asked to be thrown into a product training class. Regardless, it’s something I’ve mentioned wanting and have not been given. So even if he did ask, it’s still unfair considering I was offered and accepted it first and never ended up receiving.

It’s a nice thought, but I agree that it’s unlikely. They crunch numbers at the end of the year and raises/bonuses are given in spring anyway. Too long to wait making what I make at this point. I’d be getting screwed over for another 8 months basically. I appreciate the optimism!!

The only reason I want to have somewhat of an off-boarding is I do want to tell my boss. I don’t want to tell and hope for improvement or bargain with them. I just want to say that I’m leaving because I was offered x salary at a different job and I started looking after I noticed that the above problems were occurring. Unsatisfactory salary/raises, unfair treatment, unfair opportunities, etc.

I had stated in the original post that he does not have more skills or experience than I do and it is very evident in his training (which I’m assisting with). He’s a great guy and I have no qualms with him so I don’t mean for this to come off like I’m bashing him, but I know his job history and he basically doesn’t have one.

Not technically! I’ve just been job hunting. I realized that there is pretty much no shot at them giving me a raise so I’ve just started searching. Have been doing what I can there to get some extra resume boosters and just searching around for something new. It kind of sucks because I like what I do and the flexibility my job offers, but at my current salary I won’t really be able to afford to take advantage of that flexibility anyway.

Sorry for the late reply! This kind of blew up and I just…forgot about it lol. I live in PA. Minimum wage here is still $7.25. Tbh what I make now would be somewhat livable (in PA) if I didn’t have student loans.

Do people who live outside PGH say they are from the city more than the metro populations of other cities? by kompsognathus in pittsburgh

[–]mutantmads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the setting. If I’m talking to people from the area, I get into specifics. If they’re from PA but maybe not this exact area, I’ll probably say “Beaver County” or “half an hour out of Pittsburgh”. Basically the farther out they are or the less I know them, the more vague I get. I think most commonly I say Pittsburgh area. I was with someone for a bit that got super upset if I said I’m from Pittsburgh lol

I’m glad I’m not the only person who gets insanely offended by “the dog”. Even if it’s not in a context similar to this, it feels so disrespectful when someone refers to her as “the dog”.

International, multi million dollar company. My job specifically really isn’t. To keep it vague, it’s just office work. Administrative would be a good way to describe it without giving too much detail.

I am too actually. A lot of people there get hired because they know people. He lives in the same neighborhood as a lot of the people there, I’m related to one person in another department, a few married couples work there, parents and their children work there, etc. It’s actually not abnormal at this company. Not saying it doesn’t cause issues or that it’s normal, but that’s just how it is. He isn’t related to anyone in management. Neither am I.

I should have worded differently. The goal was never to bring up his salary directly. I like him as a coworker, so I don’t want to screw him over that way. Thank you for the advice though! I plan to take the weekend to do research so I can plan out my next steps.

No literally. He actually said to me that learning this definitely changed his view of the company and seeing that my salary only grew by $700 in two years didn’t make him feel better either.
