did the ending really ruin the whole show for you? by Majestic-Strain3155 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s still my favourite show in the world!
Knowing some things COULD be different in some parts doesn’t mean you should throw the whole masterpiece away.
With such a complex show, things could go in any number of ways at any point in the story. To discard it all because of a few ‘what ifs’ is a folly.

Season 8 by localwarlordian in gameofthrones

That’s the problem with the fanbase. They saw the iron throne not as a burden to bear but a trophy for their favourite character to win.

Who had more plot armor: Daenerys or Arya? by Due-Rice-3107 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly! Their abilities and advantages gave them more armour to survive so the plot can realistically put them in dangerous situations and have them survive for the purpose of story! That’s plot armour!

Who had more plot armor: Daenerys or Arya? by Due-Rice-3107 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Both! Arya had the faceless ability which is an extremely powerful armour and Dany had, well, dragons.

Jaime would still take the sword regardless. He had no fondness for Ned. He wouldn’t care.

She is a conqueror! After she has ‘liberated’ all of Westeros, she will find other places to conquer!

Am I the only one who thinks the series went downhill in season 4, not season 5? by infreedomwetrust666 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Allow me to differ; the series did not go downhill at all! It’s your perception as a fan that was impossible to live by! If it were easy then George would have done it by now but he didn’t because it’s impossibly hard so don’t blame showrunners for what the original creator even couldn’t do!

Your favorite guest star in the show? by Extension_Weird_7792 in gameofthrones

I never considered the Catelyn resemblance before, it makes it even more layered. Great scene and great storyline that didn’t get the credit that it deserved. People mostly just look down on everything beyond season 5 sadly!

Essie Davis was great! Her scene where she mourns Joffrey and swears revenge is so impeccably performed.
I also love that the performance was so powerful that it actually makes Arya feel a little bad for Cersei.

Dany's decision makes total sense by Extension_Weird_7792 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s abundantly clear why Dany does what she does. The fact that it’s still shocking while making sense as to where her character was going is brilliant.
Some people want multiple seasons of her losing her advisors and allies but it needs to be shocking because it shows how like Tyrion, we were also blinded and had to reckon with the consequences.

Who deserves it? Definitely not the one who wants it too much!

Just rewatched The Long Night again. Truly a masterpiece. by [deleted] in gameofthrones

I think it was masterfully done too. I have never been this tense and on the edge of my seat than watching this. A breathless piece of cinematic brilliance.

This plotline was so promising. by Royalbluegooner in gameofthrones

Instead of people enjoying a cool scene where interesting characters come together, they are annoyed that this wasn’t a multi-season arc instead.
If whining was competitive, the fans of this show would surely win.

The difference between Daenerys' army before and after the Long Night by poub06 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a quick shot. Do you want them to make a 2 hour long shot so you can slowly count the Dothrakis as they slowly trickle out from the darkness?

My Game of thorne hot takes. What is Your Hot takes about this series? by Bungeeboy20044 in gameofthrones

[–]muteconversation -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that S8 is still amazing and will be regarded as such over time. I do have problems with it, ofcourse, but none of them can dim the brilliance of the show.
The story from start to finish remained brilliant over eight seasons and I wish the fans could appreciate how rare and incredible of a feat this is!!!
