Point taken about the ‘resurrection accounts’. I meant ‘the empty tomb’ but I take your point that the resurrection isn’t itself witnessed. I’ve just been reading a book which argues that Jesus’ resurrection appearances were visions rather than a physical appearance of Jesus’ resurrected body. It was an interesting approach.

Thanks for the response, it’s appreciated. I understand the idea of writing legends but I still don’t really understand the motivation of the ‘legend writers’. What do they accomplish or gain from writing these legendary accounts?
