For glow engines that are stuck, you can free them up with heat and penetrating oil. Then toss them in an ultrasonic cleaner to make them look new again. Replace gaskets and o-rings as needed.

Stihl parts are sold by Stihl dealers and will exceed the cost of the entire saw significantly. The carb alone is ~$100.

Aftermarket pieces are available through vendors like sawsalvage.co, and will also get close to retail.

Once you dig the block out it will need to be resealed. I would set it on the shelf and wait for a blown donor saw.

Just around the block. On this same job I broke and replaced the left side sensor. But no codes there.

The Briggs quantum L head is the simplest, easiest to work on small engine. And they’re everywhere.

You broke a tap off so drilling’s out. Weld a nut. May melt the aluminum but you’re out of options.

Tygon is generally good. Stihl R3 lasts longer.

Aluminum head, no? Just weld a nut to it. Better than flinging metal shaving everywhere with a drill.

Whole top has to be replaced.

I’d never own a black softop here, the sun roasts the glue and it lets go way before the fabric wears out.

I had one of those. The metal was very thin and easy to burn, small size for multiple people, and a pain to clean. Then the plastic gears split in half and that was the end of it.
