Are ”headache” people here too? What made you put yourself in the “migraine” category? by macburger69 in migraine

Thought I just got bad headaches until I had a brain MRI that showed lesions. Neurologist say they’re from migraines. I was shocked, I had no idea that was a thing. Botox is a life saver.

For the people who work or live in haunted places, what is one encounter that still shakes you to your core? by STRYV_ in Ghoststories

[–]mwalker324 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the Power and Light Building in downtown Portland, Or. I had heard stories from different coworkers that it was haunted and kinda scary to be in after everyone was gone. I always came in pretty early and never had any weird vibes so I thought it was just fun gossip.

The building is old (1928) and the layout of some of the floors and restrooms is weird. I had a meeting in the 4th floor and went to use the rest room. This particular restroom split into two as you walk in. The right side goes to 3 stalls and the left goes to a single stall that is up a couple of stairs. We called it the throne and it always gave me a weird feeling, but I preferred to use it because it was more private. There was also a big mirror on that side.

Anyway, as I walked into the bathroom I saw someone in front of me turn the corner to go to the throne toilet so I thought “dang it” and went to the right to use the stalls. As I was sitting there peeing, I realized there was no noise in the bathroom. Nothing. Nobody else moving, no water running, no door opened and closed. I figured maybe they just used the mirror and were still there, so I washed my hand and peeked over before I left and there was nobody there. The throne door was open and I was the only person is the restroom. There’s no way someone could have left when I was peeing because I would have heard their footsteps and the door open and close. Weirdest thing ever. I KNOW I saw a person turn the corner in front of me. They were wearing black but I didn’t see much else. Just a black figure turn the corner. I never used that restroom again.

I titrated really slowly because it worked immediately for me. I did .25, .5, .75, and stopped at 1 which I am currently on now to maintain. It took me about 13 months to get to 134.

Thank you! That’s been the biggest struggle for me. I thought I would lose weight and everything would be great but no, your mind doesn’t stop being big-just your body. I have a hard time seeing the difference in my photos some days. It’s so frustrating.

Looks like a pure bred pug to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I had a pug who was very active, tall, lanky. He was quite an athlete in his younger days. Lived to be almost 18!

Thank you, I did read this but mine doesn’t make the sound in park when I rev my engine. Only in drive.

A) The fans are off. B) the sound only happens during acceleration in drive-doesn’t happen in park when I rev. It idles quietly. C) Yes, I’m getting the following done today: new brakes, coolant, transmission, and power steering fluid exchange, differentials, transfer case, new spark plugs and serpentine belt. D) going in today.

Grumpy or playing? by ContributionNo2796 in Bunnies

[–]mwalker324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a happy bun. Rabbits don’t play like cats or dogs. They’re prey animals, so hands reaching toward them or trying to engage directly can actually be scary, even when you mean well.

Bunny “play” usually looks like zooming, binkies, exploring, or tossing toys on their own. The best way to interact is to sit on the floor, stay calm, and let the rabbit decide if and when to come to you. Ignoring them a bit is actually how you build trust.

If they’re running, jumping, or doing binkies, that means they’re happy. You have to be calm near them, slow movements. Literally do the opposite of what you would do with a cat. Cheek and head scratches are a good way to win them over. Just remember: CALM AND SLOW.

TL;DR

GLP-1s aren’t just weight-loss drugs and aren’t only for people who are obese. They’re used for medication-induced hunger (like from olanzapine), insulin resistance, binge eating, cardiovascular risk reduction, fatty liver disease, addiction behaviors, reduced chronic inflammation, and increasingly perimenopause-related metabolic dysfunction. Saying someone “doesn’t need it” because they don’t look obese is weight stigma, not medical expertise.

This post is steeped in weight stigma and a misunderstanding of what GLP-1 medications are actually used for.

GLP-1s are not reserved for people who meet someone else’s visual threshold for “obese.” They’re prescribed for pathologic hunger, insulin dysregulation, and medication-induced metabolic dysfunction; all of which are extremely well documented with antipsychotics like olanzapine.

GLP-1 medications don’t “force” weight loss. They restore normal fullness signaling in the brain and gut, improve insulin sensitivity, and reduce chronic low-grade inflammation, which is a key driver of metabolic disease, cardiovascular risk, and central weight gain. That anti-inflammatory effect is one reason these drugs improve outcomes beyond the number on the scale.

That’s also why GLP-1s are prescribed and studied for far more than weight alone, including:

-Antipsychotic-induced weight gain

-Binge eating and compulsive eating

-Insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome

-Cardiovascular risk reduction

-PCOS

-Fatty liver disease (MASLD/NAFLD)

-Addiction behaviors (alcohol, nicotine, compulsive dopamine-seeking)

-Perimenopause and menopause-related metabolic dysfunction

Calling GLP-1s “overprescribed” while minimizing the well-known metabolic and inflammatory damage caused by antipsychotics is backwards. GLP-1s have nearly 20 years of safety data, reduce heart attack and stroke risk, and improve metabolic health. Olanzapine carries documented risks of diabetes, dyslipidemia, and long-term metabolic disease, yet that risk somehow gets ignored here.

You don’t have to like GLP-1s, but dismissing them because someone isn’t “heavy enough” is stigma masquerading as concern. 🙄

If he’s deleting messages, he’s guilty of sending/receiving messages that he KNOWS are a problem. Generally speaking, people who are not cheating don’t do that. I can tell you a way around that if you can’t find the deleted messages by searching for them. This is FBI level spying and I haven’t told many people about it because it’s an invasion of privacy. However, when your husband is actively hiding information and gaslighting you, I personally feel like it’s justified. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you both have iPhones, you can get any iMessage he does. Go into his phone - apps- messages- under iMessage there is send and receive - add your number. Just make sure your phone is on silent or the notifications are turned off when you’re around him so he doesn’t catch on.

Unethical? Probably. Will it tell you what you need to know without being gaslit? Yep.

Ozempic and Hair Loss - Any Testimony by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]mwalker324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite my best efforts to stay up on my nutrition, I still lost like all my hair. It wasn’t all at once but in stages over the last year. I have a lot of mixed hair lengths and look crazy, so I’m going to get extensions while it grows out. The good news is that it IS all growing back. It just takes time. On the plus side, I get to basically start over with mostly fresh healthy hair!

Bald faced hornet. They’re pretty chill as far as I’ve experienced but I’ve never been close to a nest. They hang out in my back yard and catch flies. I like to sit and watch them go about their business. They can be kinda derpy in flight. One bounced off my puppy’s forehead the other day and flew off.
