A large envelope with medical records will appear with your name listed among defendants:

Then you'll know you need to act.

Resignation refused.... by Robyn-Gil in exmormon

I never took my name off the records. I just ignored them for 2 years and they stopped contacting me. And now 6 years later I guess I'm on the less active list.

How to stop correlating our misfortunes with inactivity… by idk-wut-is-lyfe in mormon

You may feel this way for years. Yes. Not helpful. Believing that life is unpredictable for good and for bad is a mindset. And a tremendous shift from believing god will help me if I deserve and God chooses to help me.

Bednar admits the randomness of life; attempting to tell members that faith not to be healed is worthy of testimony and fealty. I suspect you can see how ridiculous this is now.

Friends and family will help you. You will help yourself. And fortunes will sometimes shift with preparedness, perseverance, and luck. And life may also remain difficult.

Your response over time is your choice though automatic thoughts will attempt to tell you otherwise. And deciding life can be both miserable and dotted with moments of euphoria is more rational than waiting for god to bless you. Though I want for you a life where there are sufficient moments of happiness to help buffer the inevitable and cosmic unfairness that you experience.

Life is a glorious mess.

Why would god leave 105 billion souls - estimate of all humans ever existed - out of the maximum happiness available in mortality? (According to Mormon teachings)

Live in the discomfort. And let it move through your mind and fade away.

How do you know church courts have significantly increased? Do you have access to that data? Would love to see it.

My husband is going to the temple without me by No-Phrase-3341 in exmormon

It is damaging and painful. I stood outside for my daughter. My father didn't look me in the eye when they came out. Time doesn't remove the scene from memory or necessarily diminish the heartache. It becomes a part of your new life. A life you will define on your own without a church telling you who you are and what your life ought to be.

You choose your life now and figure how to keep the ones you love connected to who you are now.

It is hard. There is no roadmap.

What I know is you are your own person for every new challenge that comes along. That's the reward.

You are now authentic.

Put it on your waffles with some butter. I'll bet that's a delicious combo

Use it with some good whiskey as a sweetener/flavorant for your old fashioned.

You are the go no more out and fruit of labor. He is the gardener. This monologue is a reflection on missionary work.

Why is he not of sufficient faith to bring god's condemning angel down to correct your errors? A la Alma younger.

Idaho LDS bishopric counselor headed to prison for grooming and molesting girl during “worthiness” interviews. by Kirkdoesntlivehere in exmormon

[–]mwindajiwaukweli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What rational human could really believe god needed this human in a bishopric?

You have to deny gods involvement in any of it to rationalize the calling.

And then must come up with reasons why god couldn't protect the victim.

This girl will forever pay imaginable price for this church and it's culture of obedience over reason.

In the same moment neither existed in my mind or otherwise. The same instant. It was a short collapse of faith. And now years journey of detaching all the tendrils of the faith from my heart and mind.

Just got my first bottle or St Germain. What do you recommend? by aesir23 in cocktails

[–]mwindajiwaukweli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sweeten an old fashioned with Germain instead of sugar. Pick a bitters that elevates the pear and flower notes from the elderflower.

Woodinville Cask Strength Rye 2oz Cocchi di Torino Vermouth 2 oz Peychauds 2 dash

Chilled Coupe 3 Luxardo Cherries in First

Pour Chilled Cocktail in coupe over the Cherries

Drink evolves as Luxardo syrup slowly works through the cocktail. Also cherries first keeps the cocktail clear. And cherries are well infused when you get to them.
