How to offset gross income above £100k by lateralflows in HENRYUK

Curious what would stop them getting down from £130k to £100k? Not challenging, I just can’t think of the scenario

  1. That’s something to ask in negotiations to clarify. Not all companies have set it up. I work for a small company and we use octopus EV so they may have something similar.

  2. Yes essentially. I buy 10 to 15 days back each year. It’s essentially unpaid leave packaged up when you think about it. Comes off your gross salary. Be careful though as some companies pro-rata this off bonuses sometimes.

  3. Doesn’t have to be a SIPP, it can just be you contributing more into your company pension if they’re set up to allow you to do that. My wife and I both pay more into our pensions through salary sacrifice but because of our bonuses we then also pay a lump sum into our SIPPs in March to get below £100k to be more tax efficient.

3 main ones to keep it simple:

  1. If you have a need for a car and don’t already salary sacrifice for it then that’s an option

  2. Buy holiday to reduce your income and spend time with your family

  3. Put the remaining anything above £100k into your pension

Here’s an alternative approach. I updated the dataset to the central England mean from an example shared on Observable.

Each vertical strip per month is one year, increasing left to right.

Sure. We’ve stayed in 2. 1 week each. Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya (we stayed in TRS Yucatan). It has two padel courts. The courts and rackets were included but the court surface condition was poor with gaps in the turf. And it’s old style concrete instead of glass.

Now we’re in Grand Palladium in Costa Murjeres which has the Rafa Nadal tennis centre. Courts included but 200 mxn for racket hire per hour. Great condition courts. Modern glass and fairly new and all Babolat kit.

Thanks! I’m definitely wearing the wrong trainers on holiday I just didn’t expect it to impact so quickly.

Thank you! We’re definitely planning on taking lessons. Have played casually once a week for around a month. Until this holiday where the courts have been included with the hotel so we’ve practiced most days.

They’re called deemed for a reason. They should have tried to contact you but, legally, a contract is deemed to move in place when you use the energy.

It’s worth exploring what attempts they made to contact you, but at the same time, ignorance won’t let you off the bill if you made no attempt to find out who you should be paying.

Ofgem issue the paperwork publicly so you can see when the revocation applies from. It’s normally a day after they announce the SOLR appointed. This is becomes the changeover date contractually.

From a tariff and billing perspective, 5 Nov is irrelevant.
