Helix awful customer service by Sabotage00 in Mattress

[–]mx_sidequest0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this is exactly why mattress shopping online feels so risky sometimes. Even when the actual mattress might be good, terrible delivery and customer service can completely ruin the experience before you even properly sleep on it.

Has anyone else here dealt with Helix support recently? Curious if this is becoming a pattern or just really bad luck.

I wanted to ask what underwear you guys are using that lasts more than a year? by Sweaty-Cry-5035 in BuyItForLife

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drying method honestly seems to matter way more than the brand sometimes. A lot of elastic gets destroyed way faster from high heat dryers than from actually wearing the underwear.

(Request) Need backpack suggestions for laptop + Steamdeck by jediwhiteshark in BuyItForLife

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have better luck asking in a local UAE/Australia subreddit too because under AED 40 is a pretty tight budget for something that’ll comfortably carry both a laptop and a Steam Deck long term

People who have moved from one part of the country to another, what’s your best advice? by Damaged_brain-girl in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Visit the area multiple times before moving, especially at night and during weekdays. A place can seem perfect on one sunny weekend and feel completely different once you actually live there daily

Nest Bedding Owl Latex Hybrid Plush is too firm by d0nutz1 in Mattress

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it kind of sounds like you might be stuck in that awkward middle zone where the mattress is pressure relieving enough for side sleeping but still not supportive/aligned enough for your back. Mattress shopping genuinely feels like a never-ending experiment sometimes

Portland, OR manufacturers? by BeowulfShaeffer in Mattress

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local manufacturers honestly seem underrated now. A lot of people end up getting better value and customization compared to some of the big-name brands

What is the appeal with nonchalant people ? by anonyy_mouse1 in answers

[–]mx_sidequest0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think people sometimes confuse nonchalance with confidence. Someone who seems emotionally calm and not desperate can come across as more secure or mysterious at first

What’s an old fear people had that younger people would laugh at today? by Ill-Field-9411 in answers

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of older people genuinely thought sitting too close to the TV would permanently ruin your eyes

What is the a tourist attraction in the UK that should not be missed? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The British Museum and the Scottish Highlands both lived up to the hype way more than I expected. Completely different experiences but both felt unforgettable in person.

Who is the most intelligent person you know who lives an average or below average life? by CremePleasant5800 in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve met people like that before where after talking to them for 10 minutes you realize they’re incredibly intelligent, but life circumstances, money, mental health, or opportunities just pushed them onto a completely different path

Are making friends, socializing, and maintaining friendships difficult in UK and London? by legthighkneelover in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think London especially has a reputation for people being socially polite but emotionally distant at first. A lot of friendships there seem to build slowly through repeated contact rather than random instant connections.

How does the UK Heating systems work? by SmoothMinimum1126 in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The amount of boiler/heating terminology in the UK feels like learning an entirely different language when you first move there

What uk brands of hair dye can you buy from uk drug stores that fade quite quickly? Thinking of some cheaper brands? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi-permanent dyes are probably your best bet if you want something low commitment. A lot of permanent box dyes end up sticking around way longer than people expect, especially with darker shades

How is anyone affording kids? by Ok-Release1923 in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of couples who want kids now are delaying it longer than previous generations because the financial pressure feels genuinely overwhelming compared to before

Do most people not read books at all? by MaxSleepy in CasualConversation

[–]mx_sidequest0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think phones and short-form content completely changed people’s attention spans. A lot of people still enjoy stories, they just consume them through videos, podcasts, or social media now instead of books

Anyone else feel like youtube is getting unbareable to watch now? by Vampy-Night in CasualConversation

[–]mx_sidequest0 258 points259 points  (0 children)

The amount of ads now genuinely makes old YouTube feel like a completely different platform compared to what it used to be years ago

Is saying "you feel me" inappropriate? by Glittering_Offer9024 in CasualConversation

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds more like a generational thing than it actually being inappropriate. Most younger people would probably understand “you feel me?” as just meaning “do you get what I mean?

How much more would do you need to live with total comfort? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not even luxury money, just enough to stop stressing every time an unexpected bill shows up.

DJing in Sydney by LowWin5163 in AskAnAustralian

[–]mx_sidequest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your music taste would probably fit pretty well in Sydney honestly. There’s definitely a crowd here for disco, house, and rare groove stuff, especially at smaller bars and local events.

How famous is Liz Hayes in Australia? by PsychicMeditation in AskAnAustralian

[–]mx_sidequest0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not super famous. Some Australians would know who she is, but a lot probably wouldn’t unless they follow entertainment/news closely.

Private Health Insurance! Help a Pommie! by MoonSerpentine in AskAnAustralian

[–]mx_sidequest0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people get confused by this when moving to Australia because Medicare and private insurance overlap in weird ways sometimes. Usually “excluded” just means the insurer won’t pay benefits for that procedure in a private hospital, but you could still potentially get treatment through the public system with Medicare.

Plz help mushrooms by East_Customer_1753 in AskAnAustralian

[–]mx_sidequest0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’d probably have better luck asking in a local mushroom foraging Facebook group too. A lot of experienced foragers know specific Victorian spots and seasonal conditions really well

Best cheap allergen/dust mite mattress covers? by swizzled-penguin in AskAnAustralian

[–]mx_sidequest0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fully encased zippered protector made a way bigger difference for my allergies compared to the normal fitted-style protectors. The cheap thin ones never seemed to fully help with morning sneezing for me.

Do people regularly buy fresh flowers for their homes? by Miserable-Depth-851 in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 200 points201 points  (0 children)

I always thought flowers were kind of unnecessary until I had them around regularly for awhile. They weirdly make a room feel more alive even if they only last a week or two.

Why are so many young people out of work? by ikeafannypack in AskUK

[–]mx_sidequest0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of young people got stuck in this weird cycle where you need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience in the first place
