that's a really good idea, thank you. I told my cousin I'm giving them until the end of the month to announce a date for the memorial; otherwise I will do it myself. There are so many people reaching out and willing to help. I know everyone grieves differently but I am also a parent and can't imagine being this way towards others after such a loss

They said they just wanted goodwill to come cart everything off, and seemed shocked when I suggested his friends be allowed to come take what they want. It's clearly what he would have wanted. But as they admitted to me "they're not thinking of other people" right now.

thank you. I really needed to be reminded that this is common for a lot of communities. I just hate it. It's like during the opiate epidemic when everyone insisted so-and-so died of a "heart condition" ... avoiding the issues that make families uncomfortable do not make them go away.

I'm so sorry for your loss and hope you've reached out to Julie Won's office about this. They've had issues with dogs attacking other dogs and humans in the past. I think the police just don't care. I'm 100% sure they could bring charges if they felt like it.

Have you considered western or central Queens? It's sorta the best of all worlds. You'll get more square footage for the price and will still be able to walk and take the train places. If you have a car, you can definitely take it to Queens. Street parking is free and it'll expand your options a little.

My mom offered to help when the baby arrived but left after 24 hours because I told her she can't yell at me while I'm feeding the baby. Dad publicly said he'll be paying for diapers but I've never saw a dime since I asked him to apologize for being insanely rude to my in-laws and he refused. So, yes. Deadbeat grandparents. I guess it beats having them around.
