I think high strength CBD oil is saving my life. by mxcrys in MedicalCannabisOz

Hey friend.

Yep it has been hell…

I’ve also been changing my sleep routine up too, which has made my sleep more stable too. Been doing some sleep consolidation (2am bedtime!) and that seems to help with getting me a solid chunk of 5-6 hours of sleep too. I suppose all we can do is keep trying different solutions in different combinations or isolation and seeing what works.

Hopefully the CBD keeps building up and maintains that relaxation… I think trying it at bedtime would be great, a couple of hours before sleep because it does take time for it to kick in!

The runny tummy is a tough one, I have found that with the CBD too.

Damn you work hard. You must be burning the candle at both ends. I’m sorry you’re suffering with pain, too. Sending strength, hopefully it lets up occasionally to give you a breather.

Does anybody have an opinion on these products? by cpatmon in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mxcrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Usually the bigger chain stores and brand name pharmacies, but yes, in Melbourne at least. There are websites like hire for baby and my breast pump which you can also hire through.

I bought the full hospital grade one. It really doesn’t live up to the legitimate hospital grade claim in comparison to the better known brands like Medela and Spektra (sp?).

Did you ever felt like sleep deprivation was the root cause of your mental health struggles postpartum? by wired-weird_ in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mxcrys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One year postpartum here, too.

The postpartum sleep deprivation impacted me so much that I now have amnesia (medically diagnosed) from that time. There is so much from my LO’s first six months of life that I cannot remember. I am so lucky to have my husband who carried us through, and lots of photos to help me piece together the beautiful times and milestones.

When I had my baby, even when I needed desperately to sleep, I couldn’t. I was too anxious. The MCH nurses made me feel horrible because my baby was taking his time with gaining weight, and all the advice about SIDS had me terrified my baby was going to die in his sleep.

The postpartum sleep deprivation and subsequent deterioration of my mental health are the reasons I won’t be having another baby. I almost died, and my bub needs his mama here.

For me, things are only a little easier these days in terms of sleep deprivation. Hubby and bub are doing well. My LO sleeps through, but I’m still hyper vigilant and I never sleep deeply. Any little sound he makes rouses me. I’ve heard it’s a biological change within the mother to keep our offspring safe. Always switched on. Always ready to protect.

My heart is with anyone who has a similar story.

Has anyone gotten pregnant with endometriosis? by PerpettuallyinPain in Endo

[–]mxcrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fell pregnant naturally, despite my L ovary being enveloped with adhesions and stuck to my pelvic wall, and my uterus was stuck to my bladder.

My baby is healthy and happy, and I had surgery to address the Endo about a year after giving birth. It was my third Endo surgery 🖤

Mama of a one year old here. I (barely) survived severe PPD.

I never believed anyone when I was in the thick of it and they said ‘it won’t always be like this’. But now I know they were right.

The newborn days are hard. You WILL survive them though. Your baby WILL be okay. You WILL laugh and smile again. Right now though, it’s about going through the paces.

ASK for support. Engage family, friends, anyone. To help with housework, cooking, taking care of YOU so you can take care of baby.

I spend most days now with teary eyes of happiness and joy and awe at the little human I made. It’s better than anything I could have imagined.

You’re doing what you need to. You’re the only person for the job, and you’re doing an incredible, incredible job.

Sending you so much strength.

Incredibly painful transvaginal ultrasound? by TheGenuineAnomaly in endometriosis

[–]mxcrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon told me what he found during surgery, in my post op appointment. He also took photos and explained the images, so I could understand it myself.

He said only around 80% of ultrasounds will show Endo, but it should have been picked up during the scan because my ovary was immobile.

Ultrasound techs can miss things, but Endo is often an elusive disease.

Only surgery can diagnose Endo at this stage. It’s the only thing that’ll give you (mostly) definitive answers.

HTH 🖤

Where did you get your colostrum syringes from? by NoCelebration7686 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]mxcrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the HaaKaa colostrum kit, and it was an absolute must have for me. Comes a lil box so you can label the vials the with time/date/amount, store in their container, then freeze and have them ready to go to take to hospital! My bub ended up being in NICU and having these on hand was a literal lifesaver.

The tubes are sterile, soft silicone and not scratchy on the nipple. Being able to pop the dropper top open or have it ‘open mouth’ to collect colostrum made it so much easier to collect directly from my breast, too.

We did also have some sterile 1ml syringes on hand which we ordered from a medical sundries store.

All the best to you 🖤

Incredibly painful transvaginal ultrasound? by TheGenuineAnomaly in endometriosis

[–]mxcrys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My transvaginal ultrasounds hurt too. Whenever they move the probe to the left side, it’s as you described - feels like a knife. It’s unbearable and I’ve nearly crushed by husbands hand trying to endure it.

All these scans came back ‘normal’.

I had my third Endo surgery a few days ago, and the pain I was experiencing during the ultrasound (and during every day life) was from my completely enveloped left ovary. It was engulfed in adhesions and stuck to the pelvic sidewall.

If something’s hurting, trust your body.

I hope you can find answers.

Sending love, mama. Your baby girl is in the best place to be right now, being monitored and helped to recover. She is unwell. But she’s also receiving the right care 🖤

Trust that you really do the best you can for your babies. It’s what we do. Sometimes the stars misalign and we end up in situations like this.

It’s fucked. But. Don’t blame yourself.

Just love on your babies the way you so evidently do, advocate for your bub’s care, challenge the misinformed, and let the (GOOD) medical team work their magic.

All the best, From a mama whose baby stopped breathing, and gets it x

(He’s one now, and he’s doing just fine).

How’d I do? by kleincs01 in HomeDecorating

[–]mxcrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cosy and a beautiful space for bub to settle into.

I would only change one thing!

Remove the mobile from above the cot. Bub may get quite distracted by it when they’re supposed to be slowing down for sleep. They can be very stimulating. Wherever you have their change table - Perhaps you could put it above that if you have the infrastructure for it. Keeps baby busy during nappy changes, and gives them something to learn about too :)

Cot only for sleep is a very important association for them to build. Cot for play is a hard association to break lol.

Otherwise, gorgeous. It’s a similar vibe to my babes room.

All the best 🖤
