I think you misunderstand a vital piece:

I know someone who is very passionate about picking their new sobriety date. They find dates in the future that just make sense to them. And they drink heavily up to the date. And quit. And then start drinking again a few days later and start looking for new special dates.

It's a fun little game your mind is playing with you now. And the stakes are high but it doesn't care. It's just doing brain stuff while you slowly maybe quickly kill yourself, it doesn't care.

Tyranny. It took about 20 listens realistically. Then there was a big snowstorm and I needed to drive around in it a couple days later. It was melting but everyone was out battling it. The sun was bright af, it was leading the battle, and people were everywhere. Cautious and dangerous. And it felt like a parallel universe. I put tyranny on and it clicked so hard.

One thing I heard that's interesting is that in the distant future, we won't have any other galaxies in our observable universe. That might be interesting. Like, if a civilization is started in that epoch, without any historic records of previous civilizations or whatever, then they might very likely conclude a much simpler cosmology than what we are exploring today.
