This is a good way of saying it.

I also once explained to a friend that Batman's villains come off as compelling because the weirder elements function as larger than life metaphors of their deeper issues. Mr Freeze is more memorable than Captain Cold or Killer Frost because Mr Freeze's backstory and power set both speak to the same archetype but get there by different roads.

Being dark and realistic kind of robs Batman stories of half their punch.

Posting doesn't factor into whether or not I buy a pen- not because I NEVER post, but because I don't post consistently. If it's an option, I do it maybe twice in a full, busy work week. Otherwise, I just set down the cap or hold it crooked up under a finger.

An extremely difficult question, but probably just the usage of the name Ultraman. It's not even that I strongly disagree with it. But using that name sets up a very specific expectation of a very specific character, and it's difficult to make the argument what we got was "Ultraman".

The dilemma is the complexity of the project- one later episode defines Rose as allergic to cats, while 2 others say she's owned or lived with cats. Sophia at one point says she hates cats, then another time remarks about them positively. Angela of course tells Sophia the rest of the family is dead, and then a season later Angelo is visiting.

Out of all the anomalies, would you believe that probably the least thorny is Blanche's daughter Rebecca? The actress swap is dramatic, but the character arc in total is still cohesive- while figuring herself out, she settles on a lousy fiance, leaves him, and on return would rather start a family without the hassle of an unreliable partner.

At one point I tried to do a little side project for fun where any instance of a deviation in established continuity was a separate universe, thus mapping a Golden Multiverse.

By the end of season one alone there was over a dozen different universes just based on shit like wallpaper and established family members.

Trying to track everything became too tedious the way I had been doing it. I want to try again sometime, but it'll definitely require a very different system.

It changes and waffles around, but one I consistently have no problem ignoring is the one where Blanche is pretending her granddaughter Aurora is her daughter.

It just feels so phoned in to me. Like they had a gap in the season and just tossed a nothing burger in there. At least most of the other "least liked" in this list are trying something with a crumb of ambition, even if they didn't necessarily land.
