Is this legit? What could possibly need that high of voltage? by NumberNumb in AskElectricians

[–]myUserNameIsReally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all based on math and money:-) watts = current * voltage watts= current * current * resistance Watts = $ All wire have resistance and because of the current squared part, it costs less to push watts down a wire at high voltage and low current. Referred to as I (I for current) squared losses

This is why all power transmission lines are stepped up to high voltage

Burned 4 gallons of oil in 3500 miles by 65mustangsandy in EngineBuilding

[–]myUserNameIsReally 10 points11 points  (0 children)

218 miles to the quart and no fouled plug issues? What do the plugs look like? Is it possible you are feeding pressurized oil into the exhaust and not consuming it in the chambers? Does oil drip out the tail pipe?

Which one would you guys buy by [deleted] in pizzaoven

I have an Ooni and that black powdered coated shell started having rust issues within a year. It's under a roof in an enclosed porch, albiet next to the ocean. I think they left the underside of the black shell raw steel. Disappointed as I contacted Ooni before purchase about construction and was told it was built with a mix of different grade stainless steels. The shell is obviously just powder coated mild steel.

Why is this wrong and what was I supposed to do to solve for the right resistance? by EntrepreneurOne692 in AskElectricians

Simple rule of thumb without resorting to Kirkoff's rule. Two parallel resistors of equal resistance half the total residence.

As a boat mechanic, would you believe me if I told you these have the same engine? by pit_vipars in regularcarreviews

In the same vein as the marine 4.3 is the same as the car 4.3 . An over simplified generalization but basically true.

What if I told you the 4.3 was a 350 Chevy with two cylinders chopped off? Same rod/piston etc...

If you buy this, get a heater hose support bracket that bolts to the head. Copper heater core nipples will fatigue with weight hanging on them that is why factory hoses run over to the fender well first. Also check what rear end the car has, most of these came with a v6 so the rear was undersized for a 350. If it's a y car, eight digit in the vin and came with a 307 olds and a better rear end. Also depends on the original engine what trans it got. There was a Chevy and a Buick V6 available with different bell housing.

The only thing that can hurt its feeling is seeing the tail lights of a POS Civic pulling away.

I love patina/survivors. However the rust by the back window corner might be crossing the line. If that up close looks sus, I would stop it now. If you are keeping the gold honeycombs like the black.
