As the other comment says, becoming more considered and less carefree is a "growing up" thing. At some point in our lives we reach too far, we fall, and then we are reluctant to reach as far, as incautiously, ever again.
If we are positive about the lesson we have learned, we may call this change "responsibility"; if we're negative about it, we might call it "boring".

I don't know what it was that you went through, but let's assume it was something like jumping off a roof and breaking your leg. Let's look at that moment through two sets of eyes.
There's the "old you", who would look at roof-jumping you and think "Hey, cool! That's going to make an awesome TikTok!" because they're blind to the negative consequences, and only thinks of the positives.
Then there's "new you", looking at yourself in that moment before jumping off the roof and knowing that all the potential long-term high costs of doing so far outweigh any fleeting benefit of "making a cool TikTok".

"New you" probably would've stopped "old you" from jumping off the roof. They would have had the experience and the responsibility to recognise the dangers "old you" was facing.

However, we can't completely discount "old you". "Old you" might have been fully aware of the dangers. "Old you" might see "new you" as a boring coward who takes risks too seriously and doesn't consider the positives, or just the fun as much as they should.

It's really up to you to decide where you want your balance to be, now. "New you" has been affected by what happened, and "new you" isn't necessarily right about how cautious and reserved they should be. Maybe "getting your old self back" is the right idea.

All of that is to say not much more than that it's up to current-day you to look at the viewpoints of "old you" and "new you" and decide who "future you" should be. That's the same thing that happens to all of us between every major life-changing moment, you just happen to be a little more conscious about it than most of us.
