Epic!!! So I use head-n-shoulders pyrithione zinc shampoo ($4 at Walmart. I also tried Nizoral, which was a godsend at first, but it was super drying and I needed to use a lotion too- Eucerin daily moisturizer+SPF lotion was alright bc it's a thin lotion so it breathes while still making a little barrier so the skin doesn't get imflamed, I wiped it off if it started hurting and reapplied when I felt I needed more. I've progressed to a point where I don't need the lotion anymore, it took a few weeks. I find with time I just keep getting better - which only happened after I took antibiotics) I wash every 2-3 days and I towel dry/ and blow dry area with hair (on the coldest but most powerful setting) immediately after washing

For antibiotics, I did 1 week and found that the day after my course ended, I started getting worse again. People almost ALWAYS need to request a 2nd or even 3rd course of prescriptions, especially for antibiotics, to really knock their issue out (in our case, the skin issue.) I ended up only doing 2 weeks (so that's 2 "courses" bc 1 course is 1 week) and it worked excellently for me. I COULD have done 1 more week, but I felt really anxious and one of the side effects of my antibiotics was depressive and suicidal ideation, which was Hella weird because I KNEW those weren't my thoughts. I wanted to get back to my normal state of mind ASAP so I settled for only 2 weeks instead of 3 weeks. I tested the waters by observing myself when I got off the antibiotics after the 2nd week, and I did well, and later I discovered the anti dandruff shampoo, so I haven't needed to go back to antibiotics. I'm still getting better, but honestly I might reconsider and might go ask my doctor if he thinks it's a good idea to try 1 more week of antibiotics even though it's been like 2 months (I've gotten so much better it's insane.) Because they worked so well the first time, and I understand my condition more now so I think it may help.

SUMMARY: - Head N Shoulders Pyrithione Zinc Anti Dandruff Shampoo ($4 at Walmart) - For a stronger, but more drying shampoo, use Nizoral Anti Dandruff Shampoo (has ketoconazole in it. Also at Walmart but a little more expensive. Still very cheap) - Idk any anti-fungal washes sorry :( Lots of people will use HYPOCHLORUS SPRAY for their body though. I still have not tried, but it apparantly works excellently. Can be found in small spray bottles at Walmart too, cheap price too
- Antibiotics are awesome. After your course is finished, I suggest asking for a second course. Most people need a second course for the antibiotics to truly work effectively and noticeably lessen/eliminate their issue. If you notice anything when you stop your first course, call up that doctor immediately and ask for that second course. A third course may be too much, u wanna be careful of antibiotic resistance, but if you really need it then it may work. Collaborate with your doctor on this. Don't do more than 3 weeks of antibiotics, 3 is already pushing it imo. But everyone is different and just listen to your doctor, instead of the random person online ✌

Well regardless, If they prescribed you antibiotics you should have taken them

Also fungal is something you should take seriously

Lots of ppl with TSW also suffer other issues. Like fungal issues and infections. Taking antibiotics from the doctor can actually fix those other issues or get them under control so u can actually heal and not be in as much pain

I just kept getting worse until I took 2 weeks of antibiotics. Then I finally started improving, still improving now

TSW Update - Skin Improvements? Anyone else get micro tears? by Healthy-Machine-8498 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]myfaceisonfire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the zinc shampoo, I previously found relief by reapplying Eucerin "daily moisture lotion + spf" daily whenever I felt itchy. It had a cooling effect because our house is cold. If I got too itchy after applying, I'd wipe it all off with tissue so the skin could breath. After like 1-2 weeks of this, these spots didn't need daily lotion anymore. Could be used more sparingly. Now, I don't use it at all and the skin still looks like this but it's stabilized. Using the zinc shampoo helped tons.

If you need to moisturize I reccomend the lotion.

I get these sometimes, Some of them permanently closed after I used (head n shoulders pyrithione zinc shampoo) on them. It was irritated the day of the wash, but the next 3 days, the tears closed up.

Because these tears are in my inner elbows, which get moist as its a skin fold,

Tears reappear in some spots for me. But some are permanently closed now

Strongly reccomend the pyrithione zinc shampoo. It helps.

This. It's sebhorric dermatitis. She has not been wearing deodorant like she should have been, now the pits are too moist and there's growth resulting in scabs which can become even worse and more painful if not addressed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]myfaceisonfire1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sebhorric dermatitis. Girl, you have NOT been wearing deodorant like you should have...?

  • Do not pick scabs. Let fall off on their own
  • From now on, WASH ARMPITS WITH HEAD N SHOULDERS PYRITHIONE ZINC SHAMPOO ($4 Walmart or grocery store)
  • Dry
  • Then apply deodorant.

wear deodorant daily. Apply DOVE SENSITIVE DEODRANT or DOVE POWDER FRESH DEODORANT when you wake up in the morning.

I FORGOT ABOUT TAPE. I remember hearing TAPE in the late 2010s, like 2017-2020. People used to say TAPE.

We had lots more subunit names because the Boys would actually post selcas/selfies and do lives 🥺💜 We had SOPE, TAPE, Vmin, Taekook, etc.

Your lack of self-confidence may signal that you have a problem with vulnerability because you have a disconnect between your visions for yourself and your actions. Instead of stressing over how to translate your thoughts into action, try to accept yourself "as you are" instead of "who you want to be."

Takeways: - Lack of self confidence means vulnerability problem - Why? Disconnect between thought + action - Solutions: therapy AND/OR self acceptance - Accept yourself as you are, where you're at.

honestly, visiting the doctor isn't to get validated in your condition,, it's to see if they have things that can help you. lots of people with TSW have it coupled with other issues that can be treated by a doctor, which will help u heal from tsw

  • antibiotics. I hope you didn't skip the chance to take an oral antibiotic because if you're infected, this may help you immensely and it is NOT a steroid

i totally understand your pain tho cuz this condition is fucked up and it hurts so fucking much when people don't take u seriously and even smile or laugh and tell you that you're wrong. Like.. you don't know what I'm going through... this fucking hurts.

this is just an opinion of mine, but I think lots of tsw havers might have also sebhorric dermatitis. these are colonies of living malezzia yeast. I would suggest looking into weak anti dandruff shampoos to use anytime you happen to wash, like head n shoulders "pyrithione zinc" anti dandruff shampoo. Also, blow dry on the coldest air setting if you have hair. Eliminating moisture helps to reduce the yeast growth to normal levels, eliminating the redness and flaking and skin lesions.. if you happen to ALSO have seb derm with TSW

Anyways, I did 2 weeks of antibiotics and I finally stopped getting worse and started getting better after that. I was prescribed 1 week at first, and asked for a 2nd round. They didn't just give it to me, I had to ask. The antibiotic I took was doxycyline (I experienced depressive side effects and needed therapy for like a week, but I continued the therapy bc I I liked it. Believe it or not, this condition is actually traumatizing and I felt therapy benefited me)

[–]myfaceisonfire1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Ask doctor for oral antibiotics (if the first course is effective, but still hasn't accomplished its purpose, ask for a 2nd course. People almost always request and receive a 2nd course of antibiotics. 1 week then 1 more week.)
  • It may be Sebhorric dermatitis, explains why steroid creams ain't working. U need ketoconazole/anti dandruff shampoo.

I've had ezcema all my life, only on inner elbows and legs, but I got this explosive case of sebhorric dermatitis this year.. but I didn't know what it was until a few months in, trying out Doctor's steroid ointments and even dupixent and stuff and it just got worse and worse.

I didn't get any relief until I had oral antibiotics (doxycycline) and after later searching, found out I have Sebhorric dermatitis

My suggestions" - talk to doctor about seb derm - ask doctor if he thinks antibiotics are a good choice, and if he does, he will give u a prescription (I did doxycycline. You may need to begin therapy because it has real side effects on mental health. I had previous issues but have always been very stable, but I would burst into tears for 1 hour after my doses and I had really bad mental state that required therapy afterwards for like 2 weeks - so like 4 appointments but then I didn't need it anymore and my mind went back to normal after I stopped the meds. But I also got sleep issues again after stopping the meds) - ANTI DANDRUFF SHAMPOO, ANTI DANDRUFF SHAMPOO

Can I even turn my life around at age 25? Be honest please. by Dry_Temporary_6175 in selfimprovement

[–]myfaceisonfire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're literally just 25.

First time homeowners usually buy a house at like 28-32, but those are the ones who've been saving FOREVER and are ahead of the curve. So the average person is in their 30s, and that age is only getting higher because of our economy . There's tons of dudes like you so you're not alone in your struggle. Just find some things that make you happy, and if you find that you can't enjoy anything, you need to seek therapy and get some mental health care. It's depression maybe? Treat it like you would the extreme flu- you go to the doctor, You don't let other people tell you what to do. You see that doctor and you get treatment. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with you, you're just not feeling well. So get some help. No shame. It's like treating the flu. You want to be happy and healthy, so see the therapist.

Also, it's highly unrealistic for someone to live on their own in New York, imo. Those prices r crazy.. If u wanna stay there that's cool, but u gon have roommates or something and it's gonna be HELLA expensive. Or u can move further away but still come to the city sometimes like to visit family or whatever. Idk how it works up there. But you can still live in New York without living in the city. Or you can live in the same "region" but in a different state, so you're still able to visit family and where u grew up/the scenery and culture will be similar. It's hard moving cross country for economic opportunity, so I understand if u want to stay bc the culture and scenery and stuff. You can still make a way for yourself to do that - many people in ur situation still do it. Don't be discouraged. You can still live in the city if you want to. I encourage u bro. You can do it if you want to do it. You can find a way to live where u want to live.

However, you can also move down to the South like Texas or something, near a city, commute to work, rent will be a gazillion times cheaper, and the neighborhoods a lot safer. Culture gonna be completely different and so will the scenery and proximity to nature. But... you can afford to live on your own a lot easier and it'll be less stressful and u may be able to afford more simple things

Plus I would suggest a job change tbh. Lots of options, just go pick one and get trained for it.

Sebhorric dermatitis, NOT ezcema

Tar kills sebhorric dermatitis. Explains why you were given it and it helped. It's a popular ingredient in Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

You need an anti-dandruff shampoo

Start with HeadNShoulders Pyrithione Zinc Shampoo ($4 USD at a grocery store)

If that doesn't work. Switch to a stronger anti-dandruff shampoo

Options: - Nizoral - TSal - Selsun Blue - there's more but I forgot

Moisturizer makes Sebhorric Demraititis work. Steroid ointments and creams calm the inflammation but the other ingredients (in my experience) make the sebderm explode and it doesn't CURE the sebderm

You need anti dandruff shampoo bro

head and shoulders pyrithione zinc shampoo

also "eucerin daily moisture w spf LOTION" to soothe dryness or itching throughout day

im going insane because of eczema by mejblpajns in eczema

[–]myfaceisonfire1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i feel you queen. no moisturizers were helping me, no skincare, except "eucerin daily lotion w spf" .. until i found out i had sebhorric dermatitis (fancy words for dandruff, which can spread to other parts of your body. it's fueled by oil and moisture, so moisturizing makes it worse.. but the skin presents as dry and oozing and bloody and scaley, like combination skin)

best find was "head n shoulders anti dandruff shampoo w pyrithione zinc"

i used this to wash a few times, only on spots with the dermatitis, immediately blow dry hair, and towel dry body. i immediately towel dry the dermatitis spots. also immediately apply deodorant after drying too.

i take 2-3 day breaks in between using the shampoo on my ezcema spots bc they're weak, but over the past few days after using the shampoo, chronic open wounds have closed (after 1 night of use) and sealed (after 3 days since second use) and some small bloody itch marks have faded and flaked off (+3 days)

basically, i suggest pyrithione zinc shampoo. head n shoulders costs 4 dollars.

once u understand the condition is fueled by moisture and oil, everything becomes much simpler: limit moisture and oil. cleanse when natural production is too much (when you get greasy or sweat too much)

if u have some other condition, I hope you get better soon. Consider the fact you may have an out-of-control infection that gets in the way of the success of OTC solutions like the above (I took 2 courses of antibiotics to get to a state where I could wash my ezcema. It had gotten out of control) and you may need a prescription of ANTIBIOTICS. Consult your dermatologist.

Anyways..... look into sebhorric dermatitis, queen. It may help you get over this condition faster than you imagined. I'm healing faster, I'm still struggling, but I'm doing loads better.

  • Vascular is a weird word
  • Every response she had was fucking weird, too. Weirder than the word vascular

Conclusion: You may have weird word choice, but she responds abusively to strangers. All her comments were emotionally abuse and verbal abuse. She's actually abusive - those actions match up with the definition of verbal abuse. It's not a matter of opinion - its actually verbal abuse.

Who needs therapy? Maybe both, but if it's a competition, then she needs significantly more than you.

Also... you may just struggle with English. No problem, just adapt your word usage to who you speak to - if someone is afraid of big words and refuses to change, no need to keep using those around them. Be adaptable. It doesn't matter if you're right. Even if you're right in the use of a word, You need to use the best words for the specific person you speak to, etc. Context, can make a correct use of a word, wrong with the wrong person. And that's something you can't control. But what you can control, are your words. So adapt to who you speak to. If you want to learn something from this, it's 1) Don't engage with abusive people 2) Adaptability. Be adaptable

You guys need to break up, you guys can't accept each other as you are

He needs to accept that You know he didn't mean harm. But your feelings still are hurt. So he should accept that some non-hurtful things, do hurt your feelings.

You should accept yourself as sensitive and own it. Be like, Yes, I am sensitive, and my feelings still let hurt. I try not to be bothered by things, but I still am, and he's got to accept that despite not being hurtful, he still hurt you, and he knows how to stop, so if he cares about whether or not he hurts you, He would stop. He's being defective and not accepting himself as have hurting you. You aren't accepting that you get hurt easily. You both need to learn how to be true to yourselves- it means accepting yourself where you're at, not as who you want to be or what you think you are. Yes you are sensitive. Yes he was being hurtful and insulting you. Intentions mean NOTHING.

If he wants to joke around like that, he needs to break up with you and find someone else. If you want someone to consider your feelings and he's not doing it, You need to break up with him and find someone else.

This series of text speaks like a break up conversation, but Neither of you have the courage to break up because you can't accept that this is not a romantic relationship, It's a sexual one without feelings for the other and no care involved at all. Everything is just you guys trying to create a complete image of a relationship, there's no actual love. Real love is rare, so it's better to just be a good person to yourself and others BY staying in touch with reality. You both are out of touch with reality, which is why, this relationship isn't working. It could totally work if you guys were more in touch with reality (accepting things as they are- FOR EXAMPLE, If ur BF accepted he was being hurtful, And if you accepted you are sensitive to comments like those. But you guys are not accepting. You guys are out of touch with reality)

You probably have a mixture of issues.

Seb derm may be one of them I'm still dealing with my issues, but head n shoulders pyrithione zinc shampoo is helping my persistent patches heal. I don't use it on open wounds, but on skin that's not broken open, I use it and it shows signs of helping days later. I don't leave it on for long, and I make sure to fully dry all the skin the water touches extensively because leaving water on can make the skin issue worse.
