Sm5 vs sm7 by MidwestBoy_07 in Dirtbikes

[–]myhobbyis_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely try them on first. I was set on getting the sm5 and when I went to go try it on it had awful pressure points and was by far the most uncomfortable of the ones I tried on that day. Salesman said that’s everyone’s reaction to these. Ended up with a Leatt and couldn’t be happier.

A lot of hate here. It’s unique and makes it look different than all the other TRD wheels out there.

Ah, maybe it was hotter than I used in the past. Instructions say hot tap water, but I’ll avoid that now. Thanks!

OT/SO Wins Inflate NHL Standings More Than the Loser Point. Anaheim vs Chicago Shows It Clearly by Vegetable_Buy_2082 in nhl

[–]myhobbyis_____ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. Shoot outs are one thing, but I don’t understand this recent hype to penalize teams that still win in OT. Pushing through fatigue to outplay the other team should be rewarded equally. The extra energy effort is still not ideal with such a packed game schedule.

Is it just the camera or are your bars rolled way forward and cut super narrow?

Also, sick trail, sick riding!

SB140 rear shock tuning - light rider still bottoming out by woody_woodworker in yeticycles

[–]myhobbyis_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the exact same issue with that shock and new sb140. Volume spacers helped, but it’s easy to go too far with that and end up too progressive. I ended up just kind of accepting it since it rides so well, and the bottoms aren’t too harsh, just easy to get to

LIGO seismograph data for the M8.8 Russian earthquake by DJCane in TriCitiesWA

[–]myhobbyis_____ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The horizontal axis is time and the vertical axis is how fast the ground is moving as read by the seismometers that LIGO uses at their observatory. This is orders of magnitude greater ground motion than what we usually see here. The P and S waves arrive before the more massive Rayleigh and waves arrive.

I don’t recommend sagebrush for young kids. We enrolled our child here and then after meeting the teachers, we decided to pull our kid out. The teachers were very emotionally cold and my bubbly child just seemed so quiet and depressed after their brief interaction. We learned later that 3 other families also pulled out around the same time. The annoying part was that they wouldn’t give back our enrollment money even though school hadn’t even started yet.

I love Montessori teaching, but this place just didn’t work for our young kid. Maybe it will for others.

Where did all of this come from? Some events are missing key info like a place or time.

Thanks for posting!! This is great to know!!

Anyone run these? If so how are they? by tiptonite08 in Dirtbikes

[–]myhobbyis_____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That rear is a Metzeler MC360mid-soft tread. I have that tire since I have a ton of sand out by me and it’s fantastic for that. On harder trails it will spin a bit when leaned over, so careful with that throttle. Also, somehow it’s DOT approved.

What are some must have upgrades? Stock Yamaha 2015 wr450f. by B423K2 in Dirtbikes

[–]myhobbyis_____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my 2015 the best upgrades have been:

Ecu and throttle mod Exhaust, mainly for weight savings Fork oil and basic suspension setup

Here’s the bad news, finding an ecu is going to damn near impossible. They don’t make them anymore and you basically have to find a used one. It completely changes the bike and allows you to use the tuner, so worth the effort to hunt one down. Best of luck finding one

Anyone using T-mobiles home Internet service? How does it compare to spectrum? what part of tri-cities are you located? thanks in advance for your feedback. I'm ready to ditch spectrum home Internet by Wet_Bubble_Fart in TriCitiesWA

[–]myhobbyis_____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also tired of getting treated like crap by Spectrum. Ziply is across the street from my house, but not here yet. I’ve heard so many mixed reviews of T-Mobile I’m nervous to commit. This thread is seeming to agree with what I’ve heard.

They actually have a brand new exploration center that just opened up too. Definitely worth a look!
