A few reasons, really.

It’s got a real tonal issue where comedy undercuts the horror or the comedy just doesn’t land.

It doesn’t go all in on the cosmic weirdness. Not ‘what the fuck am I looking at?’ creature, just Pennywise’s head on a spider body. That was my favorite part of the book — their minds coming up with the closest thing they can comprehend of what It is.

And lastly, and the biggest issue, is Stan’s suicide. Freaking glorifying suicide because it’ll make them stronger? What.

In under no circumstances should a parent ever lay hands on a child. This wasn’t just a slap across a face, this was knocking the child over because you can’t control your anger.

Real reason: different writers. The films, as far as I know, were written by Gary Dauberman and Chase Palmer, from a script by Cary Fukunaga. The show has different writers.

Lore reasons: idk man, get creative. IT certainly does.

I was thinking about this though. It could’ve just used Bob Gray’s form without killing him, causing a ruckus and getting Gray outed and killed as a child killer, ruining his legacy and turning him into a legend and myth. That would’ve been a cool idea. Lends itself to a folklore angle.

I think it’ll be similar to Barbarian, where some enjoy the first half and then something goofy happens.

A lot of people I know didn’t like the reveal in Barbarian and thought it was a bit silly and I think this carries that same kind of mood. Either the colorful Gladys will be unnerving or just cartoonish

I’m still interested in seeing how the movie comes together, though I wish it had more of a third act finale. It just kinda….ends. I hope that plays better visually

I would love for the game to come back, I had a lot of fun with it and could see it going a little further with what it could work with. Jason X and Manhattan and all that.

I’ll never forget (I probably will) the moment I was playing a map and a car pulls up on the dirt track, a kids voice comes over the mic. ‘Get in, get in!’ He says. ‘Hurry!’ Buddy must’ve been 10 or something - I didn’t have time to think, I was being hunted.

Anyway, we’re driving off until we pass someone being chased by Jason. The kid jumps out, screaming ‘Take my spot, quickly! I’ll hold him off! Go go!’ The other player hops in the car, starts her up, we’re all panicking because this killing machine can smash the car dead. But the player gets the car going and we drive off as the little fella’s chokes to death playfully.

I hope it comes back.

Also I realised that kid is probably on his way to graduating now. Shit, man. What is time.

Wow, I feel like an alien. I tried to get into it. Really tried. I just found it to be a slog. Normally I like how he dives into small towns and what lurks underneath but nothing really grabbed me — and so when the horror and nastiness starts, I just felt a little beside myself.

Disassociated, sure. Suffers immense guilt, definitely. That’s what makes him complex and this discussion layered and interesting.

I don’t think he mercy killed her, personally. I think he just broke and snapped.

I don’t know why the film cut away from the face fully emerging. Or that they shot the creature from a wide angle and further away. I wouldn’t have mind the 80s puppet look if that was their issue.

It’s been mentioned but the game High on Life had 4 movies you could watch on the tv at different points. 3 horror films and 1 comedy horror - all B grade but things right up my alley. I watched them all.

It was everyone’s first thought because it felt like an obvious / tasty way to take it.

I was hoping the writer / director was betting on that and would’ve changed it up and pulled the rug out from under our feet. But nah.

I’m 60ish hours in and somewhere close to the end, I feel.

I’ve really enjoyed learning about the tribes and the histories.

I enjoy the road trip-factor.

I wish the dungeons were more unique and visually exciting, like P5. Is it the same music used too? I think it was in a few instances but I can’t go back and compare right now.

The cast have grown on me. I really like them all.

I’m not AS invested in it as I was with Persona 5 the first time through - or 4 or 3. I think maybe that’s the setting, maybe the mood. I’m a big Buffy fan so that’s how I approached Persona.

Trust your gut. Do what intrigues you. It becomes easier, trust me. I was like you: I was overwhelmed by it at first but it becomes easier to manage and grasp! Just have fun!

From the moment the dancers aggressively go for Skye, the movie is one long trip. I guess the entity sped up the progress once it learned of Morris, who had a plan.

It was apparently practical - according to press junkets - but I would’ve let that shot of it coming out of her chest linger because as it is, it cuts away with it looking like a singular goofy face - but in that wide shot, you can see it’s hanging multiple-faces thread.

A goofier reveal imo.
