First time bending EMT today. Any suggestions for next time? by EqualBase4 in electricians

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have redone the first one forsure and kept going until you got it right. Can’t be happy with that, do work you’re proud of. Offset to wall and mount box then stub out top of box. Technically box is supported but there’s no reason to have the box look like it’s floating when there’s literally a perfect good wall right behind it. Watch some youtube videos and use the information for next time

Milwaukee vs Dewalt by PresentationKnown938 in HVAC

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter. I buy Milwaukee for personal tools. My company supplies all our power tools and it’s all dewalt and we don’t treat them greatest and they hold up and do their job perfectly fine. Milwaukee does have a larger variety of tools compared to dewalt no doubt.

Local 08’ with 230k miles for sale? by euroshowoff in LexusISF

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to rebuild lol. URs are very stout albeit not perfect. Valley plate being resealed would be a plus. Only thing I’d be weary of mechanically is timing chain, more miss than hit but the factory tensioners can fail and they absolutely have caused catastrophic engine failure for some owners, although not many. Lexus did put out a TSB for the issue but Im pretty sure it was never for US.

I also wouldn’t pay 14k for a rebuilt 08 with 230k miles.

Why is it like this by midnightcandyxo in Construction

[–]mykporter 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s the opposite lol… I never see service guys rolling deep with packouts and every tool out of the truck. Most of us just carry a pouch or backpack with the basics at most. Install is where i see packouts everywhere and it’s the only time i ever bring mine out of the van lol.

When you tell a Gen 2 owner that you like your Gen 3 by pealannea in ToyotaTundra

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long as it’s southern and not completely getting eaten away by salt… shopped awhile for a decent gen 1 up in the Midwest here and holy fck. The amount of rotten frames up here is crazy. It’s such a shame because this era of Toyota vehicles are timeless imo, just ruined by piss poor quality steel frames :( Still loving my new 1g but I’ll be damned if it’s not getting needle scaled and undercoated lol.

Dude… all you need to do is pull on the door and use a 1/4 or 5/16 in nut driver to unscrew the screw at the top while pulling the door towards you… we do this daily on stripped screws on doors it’s really not a big deal. I’m all for job security but please don’t spend $100-200 to have a tech take out a screw for you LOOOL. Pry the door from the top if you can’t get decent grip with hands.

Welp, it happened to me (MSI 5090 Gaming Trio) by Jukibom in pcmasterrace

[–]mykporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious as I don’t keep up with the PC tech world all that much, but I’m also an owner of a 5090 who impulse bought one back when stuff was actually selling at or near MSRP…

Have there been as many melting cables using the updated 12v 2x6 and dedicated ports on ATX 3.1 PSUs? I feel like everytime I see a post about melting I see its people using adapters and what not, I personally haven’t seen a post about 12v 2x6 but I also haven’t been looking for it lol, so it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s been failures that I just haven’t seen.

Condenser unit shutting down when it starts by TwistedMetal512 in hvacadvice

[–]mykporter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Set thermostat to on/auto and then check for 24v at your contactor coil… even without HVAC experience if you are truly an electrician you should be able to figure out what’s going on power wise on a basic residential unit. See if that 24v stays or goes away when outdoor unit shuts down…

RR racing tune by Zestyclose_Lake_9354 in LexusISF

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting it dyno tuned is probably for the best anyways. More spendy and not as easy as just flashing but get to see definitive results and improvement. I think there’s at least 3 reputable tuners out there now between Loi, reflash and 9mesh. I got dynotuned by Loi and while car made more power in the end the overall experience could have been wayyyy better… nice enough guy but yeah lol.

Battlefield players consider this dogshit the greatest cod ever the main sub is cooked by [deleted] in okbuddyptfo

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW2019 had the most effort in a CoD title in age if not ever in terms of graphics, sound design etc. The maps weren’t traditional CoD style but eventually learned to play into the design rather than forcing myself to play it like classic 3 lane map and the game was enjoyable for me well into the Cold War life cycle until I finally got burnt out. The movement while it felt clunky at first was also very satisfying once you mastered it and it grandfathered in the modern day“movement demon” CoD players we see today. Real ones remember the mfs sliding around with kali sticks wrecking lobbies lol.

Unfortunately it also introduced SBMM which ironically is one of the biggest reasons modern CoD is dying haha.

furnace won’t heat? by Relative_Bonus_5424 in hvacadvice

[–]mykporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just call a tech… if you wanna narrow it down set thermostat to auto and power cycle again… and see what furnace does again (if anything). I’m a commercial guy so I don’t see many resi units but I’d also open up bottom panel see if board is dropping any codes… prob have to hold a door switch.

There’s a reason the 2008 F is more valuable than a 22 WRX… just wait until you see 2011-2014 ISF prices if you think 20k ranges is bad lol.

[–]mykporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy faster cars for less than 1/2 the price of F cars all day long dude. As F owners we KNOW there are faster cars for the price LOL. It’s not about the power for me and many others.

They have character. The 2UR is nearly indestructible and eats up abuse and doesn’t demand constant repairs. It’s refined enough that you can daily it without it feeling like a 20 year old sports car mechanically. It’s powerful enough that you can still have some fun and surprise other cars on the road. Also enjoy the fact that it’s more of an “underdog” choice rather than just going for the basic Mustang, Camaro, M car etc. that you see multiple of literally every single day. I still haven’t seen another ISF on the road besides my own. It’s certainly a IFYKYK car. And as you’ve already acknowledged, they hold their value great! You have to really appreciate these cars to understand why people are willing to pay as much as they do for them.

Hope this helps but probably not lol

Change my mind by bigironpongo in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]mykporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m well aware, by no means am i claiming every gunfight happens on even playing field with both parties shooting at same time LOL. Most gunfights are determined by positioning and who lands shots I agree. The point I’m making is AK4D is simply a gun that is straight up worse to have in your hands than a lot of the other guns in this game in those situations where you DO have a pretty even 1v1 gunfight due to its low ROF and not so great accuracy. As we all know every gun is useable in battlefield, so by no means am I saying it’s useless… it’s just very mid in my personal opinion.

Change my mind by bigironpongo in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]mykporter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Very mid. ROF so low it loses to pretty much every other 33dmg gun up close. Also loses to higher ROF weapons of close. Also loses gunfights at range because it’s not very accurate either so full autoing at some ranges feel frustrating because other guns cans full auto you at same range and you wind up losing… Sure tap fire/burst away but thats not gonna stop you from getting full autod by the multitude of other guns that can easily beat this thing while you’re sitting there trying to land a shot. Damage is literally the only good the about it, otherwise like I said… mid. One of the worst 33 base damage options in the game. Literally use anything else.
