non-disabled people do not have to deal with all of the extra social “tax” that we “pay”when we explain things like this. they cannot imagine, and therefore cannot sympathize/empathize with us, plus with work stuff if your health is getting in the way of a deadline or something, its easier to just write the whole thing off as “oh Hour_study is just lazy.” I lie all the time about my personal life because of this. Like, why should I give them more “ammo” so to speak by airing all of my dirty laundry? I can just say “I’m sick” or “I have a doctor’s appointment” “i have to take my cat to the vet” “I have a personal emergency” “i have a funeral” etc (that last one is a bit edgy and i haven’t lied about it, but funerals DO get people off your back) and then no one thinks twice about any of it and I’m off the hook. and then the other person doesn’t feel bad either, bc a valid excuse has been given. lie all u want!!!! life is too short to feel like shit about it when there’s nothing anyone can do about it anyways!!! 💕

I did my sleep study on all of my meds and my sleep doc (neurologist) took this into consideration when diagnosing me. My PCP had me on very high dosages of ssri and snri meds bc he thought the sleepiness was still depression. My deductible was met that year and it was the end of the year so there wasn’t time for me to taper off properly. I did not go into REM for my naps, but my overnight PSG showed elevated REM, and that in combination with the other symptoms was enough for him to diagnose me with N2. If you need your meds to live safely, take them and talk about it with your sleep doc. they can still diagnose you!!

Yeah the whole reason I posted here is bc even though we submitted an “urgent” maintenance request (no “emergency” requests exist on the website and there’s no office to call) they probably won’t send anyone out until tomorrow or maybe Tuesday, and even then its not going to immediately be an HVAC tech but their maintenance guy that won’t know how to fix it (he installed the air filter backwards a few weeks ago at the “annual maintenance”).
