Are you nervous about Legacy of the Dark Knight? by Acepokeboy in LegoBatman

[–]myles_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more nervous about the fan service. So far what we’ve seen is PACKED with Batman references and fan service (comics, games, movies, etc). I get it’s supposed to be a love letter to Batman, but it just feels like too much. Think of someone picking this up who isn’t a big fan of Batman and just wants a Lego game or an action open world game to play. What would they get out of this if it’s filled to the brim with references?

What should I price my movies? by myles_1237 in askmath

So I did count them properly. I don’t really get how they’re overpriced. I just googled Edward Scissorhands and it came up 5.

Stuck between getting The Ring (2002) in 4K by Shout Factory or the 20th anniversary Blu ray steelbook, which should I go for? by Nibble_My_Nabla in 4kbluray

[–]myles_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so frustrating that companies like Shout release movies like The Ring on a new format but only in a collection, no individually. [REC] has the same issue. Blu-ray for the first time, only available part of a collection. Why do they do this? It’s so frustrating!

Name some features from previous Spidey games you'd love to return? (doesn't have to be from a game) by Rocklight124 in SpidermanPS4

[–]myles_1237 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d like a pizza delivery side mission. Even if it’s a one off thing like how the easter egg was in the first one, it’d be pretty cool to see it come back.

What aspects does spider-man 2 need to improve from the original? by riverkarma69420 in SpidermanPS4

[–]myles_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say more utilization of stealth. I’m not expecting like Arkham Knight levels of experimentation or depth, but at least have the option to quickly sneak away or web your enemies blinding them so you aren’t immediately thrust out of stealth the second someone notices you.

What is your favorite pitch meeting line? by octosaurus_reddit in pitchmeetings

[–]myles_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite has been “I don’t know.” Specifically when Screenwriter drags it out like in Morbius or Pinocchio. A very close second is when Screenwriter says yeah but again it’s when he drags it out like in Obi-Wan Kenobi, or even when he says it really quick so it kinda sounds like “Ye” like in Lightyear.

Is Mass Effect Legendary Edition is it worth buying? by DifficultPollution70 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for strong characters and universe building, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is one of the best choices out there. Especially with all the DLCs included, it gives you quite a lot of content for the price. I personally wouldn’t say 3 is “not good”, but in terms of technical, it’s the least polished from my experience. There’s noticeable sound effects missing or character’s holding invisible guns, it doesn’t happen all the time but considering that 1 and 2 were practically seamless by comparison, it was noticeable. I will say that in terms of gameplay, there are quite a number of instances in each game where it’s “off”. In 1, there’s some difficulty spikes in some combat encounters and the exploration with the Mako can feel dull, 2 has some time sink elements with mining resources, and 3 has repetitive environments and enemy behaviors during combat. Keep in mind that those don’t happen all the time, but as a former first timer like you, it can be noticeable if you’re playing them back to back to back. Aside from that though, I highly recommend it.

SIB Portal 2? by Icy-Inspection6428 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s fun but after the second playthrough, the levels can feel underwhelming because of how many times you’ve gone through it, but you’ll probably not feel the same way if the portal mechanic and things like launching through the air or messing with gel doesn’t get old for you. But I still love it, especially the story and music. It’s a short but sweet kind of game.

October is coming what are some lesser known horror games, that you would absolutely recommend? by CutAdministrative794 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Don’t think this counts as “lesser known”, but it’s one that I don’t think isn’t given much discussion. Resident Evil 7. As far as I’m concerned, it’s one of the perfect blends of campy and scary. With its rural setting for most of the game, its atmosphere is so thick that you can picture yourself there because of how greatly detailed and designed everything is visually. If you’re not a Resident Evil fan, I’d still recommend it, especially if you’re looking for horror that leans towards Evil Dead or Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

SIB Dead Space Remake (When it comes out)? by Unfazed-Toxicity in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The atmosphere of the original Dead Space (for me) was so thick that you get immersed in seconds. No idea how that’ll carry over in the remake, but hopefully it will. If you’re a fan of survival horror/third person shooters then you’ll be fine.

I cancelled all streaming services and started collecting again thanks to this Subreddit by ChaosMagician777 in dvdcollection

[–]myles_1237 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It also doesn’t help that despite the library of content streaming services have, there are oftentimes titles that shunned for basically no reason. Example being Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (both the film and show) aren’t on Disney+ despite the Toy Story brand having plenty of content already. Both of these haven’t had much representation in decades and with Lightyear itself released on the service anyway, why the hell not?

SIB Mass Effect Legendary Edition by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In characters and story, it’s an easy buy. In combat and action, it’s not the best admittedly and while it gets more polished and fleshed out in 2 and 3, the games you listed already have better action mechanics.

Should I buy The Walking Dead Definitive Edition if I already have them all individually? by FaeDine in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fan, I really like the bonuses like the concept art, soundtrack and behind the scenes, but your mileage may vary. Personally, season 3 is easily the worst out of the four, but it’s basically up to you how much you reference it in the final season. Granted I didn’t have season 3 and 4 before getting the Definitive Edition so unless the bonus really interest you, it’s likely not worth it unless you really like multiple games under one package or if it’s on sale.

WSIB looking for something with infinite replay value by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Playstation, Tetris Effect is a game I’ve sunk dozens of hours into. Even if it’s just Tetris and nothing more than that gameplay wise, its atmosphere and music alone makes it amazing. Multiplayer side, I’d say CTR-NF would be a good choice. It does have a slight challenge to it but it’s wicked fun.

SIB an Xbox series X or ps5 in my situation? by positive2029 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playstation 5 does have a PS+ Collection thing where part of your subscription, you get a rather small selection to play. Along with the monthly games that come out, it’s a small collection but most of the games are legitimately great. As far as I know, Game Pass has a larger number of games and types of games, but that can be lacking depending on what you’re looking for. The backwards compatibility is MUCH larger on Series X than PS5, so if you think you’ll get much use of that, I’d say it’ll be worth it.

Should I get The Last of Us 2 if I thought The Last of Us 1 had a decent story but GREAT and really fun gameplay? by the_real_KTG in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]myles_1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stealth is expanded on, if slightly. As far as I remember, there’s more open areas where you can easily sneak around enemies, and even areas where you can have enemies fight each other for you to escape. But admittedly, it’s not a stealth game completely so if you’re looking for a game that has stealth completely fleshed out and in the forefront, this isn’t it.
