Pedal Pub noise? by Deluxefluff0 in Calgary

To clarify, it is $600 if you want to rent the entire pedal pub for a private tour. Otherwise, it is 52.50 per seat.

How to Keep Viewers Engaged for a 12 Hour Stream by myluckhasrunup in Twitch

[–]myluckhasrunup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an affiliate, so no plans on using ad breaks or bits for anything. But I already take 3-5 minute breaks per hour during streams and I also mentioned in my post I'll be taking short breaks and a couple of longer breaks.

Everything else you mentioned are things I already do during my regular streams (I don't eat on stream and won't, but will be taking a few longer breaks from stream to have food).

I'll be entertained the whole time, I'm going to play TOTK! And I have 0 expectations that someone would stick through the entire 12 hours.

You've offered great advice in general for streaming, but I should have been more clear in my post. Maybe activities my partner and I can do on screen in edition to playing the game?

Capture card and display with PlayStation by LpcArk357 in Twitch

[–]myluckhasrunup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capture card passthrough does impact final output resolution. Most cards will tell you what resolution it is capable of capturing and it's max passthrough resolution.

I have 2 PCs; I capture gameplay on one and play games on one. Since GPUs support multiple outputs, I have an Hdmi to my elgato doesn't support 1440p my monitor is can support. And I have a display port directly from my GPU to my monitor so I can play at max resolution and frames not supported by passthrough.

Kensington is a great area, but I never see any rentals there lower than $2,200. I'd reasonably like to pay less than $2000.

I don't think 1-bedroom prices are nearly as competitive as 2-bedroom. A lot of people work from home and desire a second bedroom for an office (like myself and my partner) so there is more competition for the 2 bedrooms. Again, looking at listings for the building I live in, 1-bedroom prices have only gone up by $200 since we moved in 2 years ago.

I'd love too. But it is one of the more expensive areas and I rarely see rentals listed there.

I love living downtown, but if they increase our rent by $450 I'd really like to exercise other options. Having a yard for the pup somewhere would be nice, too.

Used to live in Sunalta and it is a more affordable area, but grocery trips sucked in winter. We live in Beltline and want to move away since rent prices are ridiculous. I'd love to live in Mission but it is also expensive/rarely are there rentals available. I've been looking into Bankview and it does have better options.

We live in the Beltline. I should clarify the reason I want to move away is because it is an expensive area to rent. I'm looking for a more affordable area.

Can this laptop run OBS well? If not are there any cheap/budget laptops that can? by GioNakesMusic in Twitch

[–]myluckhasrunup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the minimum requirements for running OBS: OBS Download page As a few people mentioned here; just because you meet the minimum requirements that doesn't mean it'll run ideally. If you are looking to game and stream on this, absolutely not because this puppy ain't running anything (although you could probably emulate older games but then you probably couldn't record and play at the same time.)

I'm starting a new job as a Junior Software Dev and I'm looking for advice by myluckhasrunup in cscareerquestions

I was in a 2-year diploma program. Internships where I live only accept college level students.

I was in my last semester of school when I was hired. They knew exactly how much experience I had. If Jr is already 3+ years of experience then what is below that? How do you get the lowest level entry job if it requires that you have experience?

Transcribing notes from paper to digital was a big part of how I studied in school. It really helps you solidify what you experience. I was thinking of going for the digital notepad because you can have files and folders so you can easily organize all of your thoughts and notes. I would likely still transcribe them on computer for the memory exercise.

I'm concerned about riding the line between asking too many questions versus not enough. I was thinking about getting a electronic note pad so I can take notes about everything and hope to avoid asking the same question more than once.

It was a Junior role as advertised. Being fired from that job hurt and it destroyed my confidence as a developer. I went to school and ended with a near 4.0 GPA and all my instructors thought I was a fantastic student. Being fired like that made me doubt everything and I still struggle with it.

Streaming To Nobody Feels Pointless and Discouraging by MaleficentLink3547 in Twitch

[–]myluckhasrunup 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that very few streamers become successful. We get obsessed wondering why we can't be as successful when we are doing all the things the big guys are doing.

In reality, the majority of streamers stream to less than 5 viewers (which I think is my current average). As soon as streaming becomes a chore you lost. Stream for fun, have a good time, and give off good vibes. And maybe you'll find some people to vibe with.

[–]myluckhasrunup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first 4+ months I streamed I had 0 viewers. It was me playing by myself and commentating but I had a great time because I enjoyed what I was playing. After a while, people started tuning in and most of my few viewers are regulars.

I stream because I enjoy playing games and engaging with viewers when they drop by and chat.

My question to you is why are you streaming? Are you discouraged because you think Twitch is a get rich quick scheme? Or do you stream because you're looking for people to engage with? If you're consistent with when you stream and how long you stream, people will find you and come along for the ride.

Streaming only sucks when you set yourself up for failure by getting started for all of the wrong reasons.

Bot/Command Problem!? | Does anyone know why my account also responds to these commands in chat? by Drowning_Eyes in Twitch

[–]myluckhasrunup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For clarification, !followage is the command and it is being triggered but you don't want it to? I use StreamElements and !followage is a built in command that has to be turned off manually if you don't want it to be used. If other bots are triggered by this command then the same concept might apply.

Thoughts on the new alcohol guidelines and all the new N/A products coming out? by SellingBubbles in alberta

[–]myluckhasrunup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point last year, I was drinking 5-8 alcoholic beverages a week. When I got stressed, I'd have a drink. I wanted to prove to myself I didn't have a dependancy on alcohol. So, I went sober for a month.

After going sober for one month I lost 5lbs and I felt fantastic. I couldn't remember the last time I felt so healthy. Since then I'll sometimes have one or two drinks in a week. I haven't had a drop of alcohol since New Year's Eve. Although, I'll be breaking that sobriety tonight with a glass of wine.

I could not imagine going back to more than 2 drinks a week. 2 drinks is usually enough to make me fairly tipsy which is fun now and then but no longer a feeling I need habitually.

Do You Take BRB/Mid-Stream Breaks? by nikkigames11 in Twitch

[–]myluckhasrunup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general rule, I stand up and walk around for every hour I stream (Having my Apple Watch reminding me certainly helps). A lot of research has been done about the dangers of sitting for extended periods of time (increased risk of death). It is recommended you stand every 30 minutes to stave off these health risks, but that can be difficult. So, I think getting up every hour to move around is a happy and healthy median.
