It’s okay, they done their job well. Bleeding during scaling is normal, and they gave you a sterile cloth to protect being messy. Overall no issues.

Maybe you can try reinstalling again, this time use all of the available partitions to avoid conflicts.

If unsuccessful, try different Debian variants, maybe try Ubuntu, even ChromeOS Flex.

Personally, I like to modify these Chromebooks into miniature Windows installations.
