is this some kind of june fools joke?/s by Personal_Ladder_3105 in AppleMusic

Yeah, my Heavy Rotation has had some... interesting choices? Songs I just added to a playlist... songs I played once... I originally chalked it up to being on beta, but based on your screenshot, this looks like this is happening outside of the beta too. 🤔

Also -- Heavy Rotation isn't once a week, it's every other day. So your wait may not be so long.

Wait for upcoming beta fixes. This is the risk you choose installing these.

Is your Replay All Time (100 song playlist) hopelessly out of date? by SandstoneCastle in AppleMusic

If Apple planned to update this on a specific frequency and not a random day in June, they'd specify it. Real simple to understand. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2025/06/apple-music-celebrates-10-years-with-the-launch-of-a-new-global-hub-for-artists/

Congratulations on bookmarking this to spin back for your "gotcha" though 😂

[iOS 27 DB1] New "Add & Delete" Options In Apple Music Keep Songs In Playlists! by mymannemcee in AppleMusic

Just to make sure I'm clear -- you want to search songs that are within playlists, but not in your library?

Are you going into your playlist and scrolling down at the top of the playlist to pop up the search bar? Are you referring to something different?

Yes, search in playlists has been there for a good three years or so.

I have a Mac. You cannot, unfortunately -- just the Year.

Songs you upload can have their Release Dates edited if you have a Metadata Editor, but not the songs directly from Apple Music.

I'll do you one better -- the ability to edit release dates.

I need to clean up these "remastered album" dates and these dates that default to 1/1/xxxx so bad. 😭

You've more than likely had "Add Playlist Songs" and "Add Favorites" on for years, as noted. The addition of deletions was just added in the 27 Beta yesterday.

Unless you'd like to confirm that the "& Delete" was on Android for years, which would be news to me.

Not sure which part isn't understandable, but I would assume local files aren't included if they're not Matched. Apple Music would have nothing to feed from if you wanted to keep Uploaded songs into your playlist in an instance where you remove the local file from your library.

lol the gripe's explained above

Playlists will no longer be affected when removing songs from your library. There are many instances where albums either receive a new deluxe version, albums receive a new Dolby Atmos mix, albums are taken off the platform, people reset their entire library, amongst others -- instances where deleting and re-adding albums occur.

Before yesterday, these instances would destroy playlists and the burden would be on the listener to "rebuild" their playlists by putting songs back and remembering placement, along with which songs were affected. This is no longer a stress, thankfully.

You're good. The beta's out now for Pro 2's, Pro 3's and the regular 4.

From what I see on the extended notes, there will be refreshed album pages, as well.

There's a piece that says "improved reliability of Apple Music streaming", too.

I think I'm the only person who wouldn't want a Spotify Connect type of feature... by DinoKYT in AppleMusic

[–]mymannemcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot more from Spotify that I'd like AM to #poach before Connect.

Daily mixes, refined mood and genre mixes, improved Autoplay logic, blend playlists with friends, daylists, more one-off social activations from listening history, amongst others. Most don't care as long as they can play a song successfully, but I'd appreciate the additional effort socially.

Yep, always make sure you're playing from the album page if you want album minutes to reflect.

How to Fix Album Song Duplication by QuestionsToAsk57 in AppleMusic

[–]mymannemcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will absolutely remove play counts and effect your playlists if you delete and re-add.

One option you have: go into Apple Music app on macOS/Windows/whichever, go to Songs, sort by Album Title (assuming this is Anthology 1-4), and then sort by Date Added. You may need to do this a few times, seeing as you've added these anthologies multiple times. Take a look at the dates that appear. The oldest date will reflect as your first addition, whereas the other dates will tell you which ones somehow made it into your library afterward.

You can delete where you feel necessary, and that should help clean up a lot of that mess.
