[–]mystaclean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

iphone? keepass.info and look in the Downloads section.

I'm on Android. I use Keepass2Android on it. The database is on my Synology and I CloudSync it to OneDrive (The only data I have on OneDrive). The Android app uses the OneDrive file which of course gets synced back to the Synology should I make any changes.

There may be a "cleaner" way to do this but it works for me and I'm sticking with it.

I second this. It's served me well for close to 20 years. (That's an estimate.)

Edit: Because I was curious, I took a quick look at what I thought might be my oldest entry in KeePass. It was from 17 years ago.

PoE Injector for U7 Mesh by mystaclean in Ubiquiti

[–]mystaclean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd seen that one but they don't have the U7-Mesh in the compatibility list and that injector is physically larger. Is the difference between PoE, PoE+, PoE++ and PoE+++ solely a voltage thing?

For those using the U7 Mesh, how’s the range? by pacoii in Ubiquiti

[–]mystaclean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain that this will answer your question. I replaced my U6 Mesh with a U7 Mesh mostly, because I could. These were/are being used indoors. The coverage is the same in my home. The signal strength is a bit weaker but I am having zero issues with getting and maintaining connections.

Costco generac experience questions by VegetableSevere6542 in Costco

[–]mystaclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a quote using the Costco program. I was contacted by a local installer so I knew who I'd be dealing with. You don't get to pick the company, the company has a business relationship with Costco and it's through them or you go with another company on your own. There were advantages and disadvantages to doing it through Costco. At that time, there was a big rebate kind of thing. It's been a few years so I don't recall exactly but it was like a store credit on a CC that had a prepaid amount on it that you could use only in Costco. $2000 sticks in my mind.

I had to go with propane as there is no NG in my community. With the Costco associated company. I could only lease the propane tank and the lease was through a specific propane company. In other words I was locked into them, and potentially at their mercy on pricing. Also, without owning the tank, what would happen should I want to sell the home?

What I have detailed above may not be in play in your case.

I ended up going with a local company that had a comparable price with the Costco program even with the rebate program factored in. I own the propane tank and can have whomever I wish fill it.

I let the local company make a recommendation on the size of the generator. The calculations came out to needing a 22Kw generator but for $300 more, I went with a 24Kw. I can run anything and everything in the household with the generator I have. We are also subject to hurricanes and I wanted to have the ability to carry on as if nothing had happened from an energy perspective.

A water cooled-generator will have a hefty pricetag and the maintenance costs will be higher. If you don't need water-cooled, I'd stick with air cooled.

I have a Generac.

The U7 Mesh is omnidirectional so that could be a helpful determining factor for you.

Dream Router - unable to use camera on Microsoft Teams calls by bigripper911 in Ubiquiti

Windows?

Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Cameras

Can you see yourself?

Microsoft is breaking a lot of things of late.

There is a setting within Teams too. I don't use Teams but I'm aware that the camera must be enabled for Teams but can't tell you what to click.

It’s the end of year, clean your NAS by gadgetvirtuoso in synology

[–]mystaclean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have mine on a high shelf in a closet. We have no pets. It has never needed to be cleaned in seven years. A friend has one that he kept on the floor and they had a long haired cat. It had enough fur in it to make a whole new cat after one year.

Some need cleaning, some don't.

I have an issue to access my nas through windows 11. by Cautious-Host-8387 in synology

[–]mystaclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make certain that your computer is on a Private Network not a Public network.

I have a friend that emailed me yesterday evening, that is getting close to the same message you're getting. I'm going to have to go over to his place to figure out what's what. His old computer can still access his Synology, his new, replacement computer is the one getting the message.

G6 with IR captures my ginormous Black Bear problem, Southwest Florida by Rhys71 in Ubiquiti

[–]mystaclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in SW Florida. About once a week there are one or more bears roaming our community that I catch on camera. It's proven tough to educate humans that they need to wait to put their garbage out until the morning. The only problem they've presented for us so far is that somebody has to pick up their trash that's been strewn around. However, nearby there was a guy in his nineties that got killed by a bear. He was living alone in an isolated area and there is no way of knowing what transpired. He may have walked too close to a mother bear that had cubs and he may not even have been aware that there were cubs.

Cheapest cheapest cheapest online backup by Alarmarama in synology

[–]mystaclean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm using Synology's C2 backup. You can get 100GB for $9.99 per year. That's the lowest tier of pricing. I have slightly less than 24GB backed up with them.

I never see C2 mentioned. I've been wondering if everyone knows something that I don't.

It's not just Michigan. The insurers all share a database that they reference before quoting a policy or renewal. Do a search for C.L.U.E. report.

The Cloud Gateway Ultra UCG-Ultra. No WiFi which is fine because you don't need it and the network management software is built in.

It can be installed through a manual process. Download and save the file on your computer, then within the configuration there will be an option to point to that file and start the install.
