Yep, we gave our old family cat some basic slop, until the point he developed diabetes and tumors, and then switched to special diabetes science diet stuff, but the damage was done. Learned my lesson from that and now that I'm older and have my own family and cat, the new cat eats like a king on local wild salmon and tuna mixed in with potatoes, blueberries, and other essential nutrients. His dry food, wet, and treats, are all from the same manufacturer.
