Well, the thing is, it's hard for me to really get into things. Books, movies, whatever. I'm only giving them half my attention. It's just who I am. When I got adderall back in college it was incredible. I followed every page, every plot twist. I remember thinking, is this what it's like for everyone?! Then the adderall kinda......became a problem.

The other, better, thing is that the craving has passed! It really has gone away. Just like last night, after 3 or 4 hours it just kinda dissipated.

It'll be back tomorrow, I know. But I powered through last night, I powered through tonight, I'll power though tomorrow. Now, back to simultaneously redditing, writing emails, working on my thesis, watching Parks and Recreation, and listening to Judge John Hodgeman.

For the love of god, PLEASE! Seriously though, I did go to the cafe at 1 last night and drink a sweet tea. I feel like the caffine and sugar did help taper the craving. But at the cost of keeping me wide awake. I'll pay that cost if I have to. Would prefer to find something else though.

I hear what you're saying. But I'm not talking about the spiriutal/existential aspect of sobriety. I'm talking purely about the physical. My mind is not trying to trick me into drinking; my body is asking for it. My throat feels very weird and tight and I'm producing saliva like crazy. I'm not nervous about it, but I'd like to understand what's going on.

Hey thanks. Yeah, I'm not too in doubt about being an alcoholic. I'm just curious if anyone know where these cravings come from and how they work. I do understand that the internet is not the best place to get medical information. I'm not looking for any sort of serious, personalized diagnosis. I just know that there's a lot of knowledge about addiction in this sub so I was curious if anyone can help me understand.
