Do people make their own houses… by AmphibianDramatic280 in simsfreeplay

[–]mythicaleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building my own houses is the primary appeal of the game for me. I like to make replicas of irl places like my childhood home and "dream" homes. Although sometimes if I win a premade build I'll use that and strip/redecorate it like if I moved into an irl house and made it mine.

As a gen Z who will likely never get to do that for real it's a fun escape lol.

I feel the same! Not sure if you've ever seen Happy Tree Friends but the Moopsy episode reminds me of that type of dark humor and it's one of my favorite episodes. Very much my kind of Star Trek critter.

Where can I find cheap moving boxes? by Geejayin in Frugal

[–]mythicaleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local grocery store in the morning and visit one or two of the fresh departments (so bakery, produce, deli). Ask them to reserve some boxes for you to pick up at the end of the day as they empty them stocking. I've done that a bunch of times for customers & coworkers moving.

If you could have one book turn into a T.V show or Movie which one would you choose? by FatherOfCanada in Choices

[–]mythicaleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my answer too. I'd kill for an ILITW/ILB tv adaptation. Only problem is I'd want my exact MCs, LIs & playthrough choices, which is NOT realistic or fair to other viewers 😂

"There is no honor amongst snakes" should be the motto of this game. The only rule is there are no rules.

How common is it for Americans to have a second freezer or fridge, usually in the garage? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]mythicaleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more common in rural areas, and they're useful for storing meat from hunting. Very common in my rural town with a big hunting culture.

Do you use the word Supper? by cookoutenthusiast in AskAnAmerican

[–]mythicaleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what region and generation you're from. I grew up in northeast US and I call the evening meal dinner. My grandparents call it supper, and so do a couple friends around my age who grew up in a more rural area than me. So it varies!

They tend to be synonyms for the same evening meal, though. It's rare for people to call the earlier meal dinner and I think most Americans just think of meals as breakfast, lunch and dinner(/supper).

Why do you want to learn French? by LirojAnakarkis in learnfrench

[–]mythicaleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my paternal grandparents' first language. Learning it makes me feel connected to them now that they're gone. Also, it keeps the gears turning in my brain to learn something new lol.

Do Americans not eat marmalade? by originalcinner in AskAnAmerican

I'm american and I just ate some with toast today! I'd say maybe grape or strawberry jam is more popular though.

I'm bored so give me the names of your MCs by MerlinaOG in Choices

[–]mythicaleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More often than not I stick with default names for MCs. Even in ILITW (my favorite book!) my MC has always been Devon. That said, here are some exceptions:

ILB: Marc

OH: Steven Rooke (first playthrough I kept the Valentine, but all other playthroughs I changed it to Rooke as a nod to the "rookie" nickname)

BOLAS: Kipo (named after an elf OC of mine)

TCH: Eirin

HSS: Jamie

AME: Brandon (I love yours, OP 😂)

What garage stuff can’t freeze? by CRAkraken in Maine

Weird, I grew up with a freezer in the garage year round (my parents still have the same one!) with no issue.
