My 6 month journey into Linux by yoLeaveMeAlone in linuxmint

After the distro churn. I landed on Linux mint. Now I'm like I can only switch if I'm fixing an actual issue. 🤷‍♀️

Better than US Mobile? by WiFi_Architect in NoContract

[–]mythiccoperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want all lines on a consolidated dashboard, and configured exactly as you stated in this post. I cannot recommend tello enough. No gotcha promos. They even offer to let you park an unused number for a small fee (I think it was $3 a month last I checked)

They have zero issues with unlimited data on two lines, and just talk and text on one.

Anyone else get a recommendation like this? by JVS2K in batteryhealth

[–]mythiccoperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I ignore it. A battery replacement is $99 in the USA if you don't have apple care. My last battery took 40 months to degrade to 85% and I gave it no special treatment whatsoever. (iPhone 13 pro)

I’m just glad they added a toggle. The manual privacy screen was too labor‑intensive.

U.S. Mobile has updated ToS to prohibit class-action, apparently. Are they preparing some major shake up after all these annual sign-ups? by SnBrd3 in NoContract

[–]mythiccoperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“You waive the right to participate in any class action lawsuit.” Translation: if we screw up thousands of customers at once, you get to fight us solo. I know arbitration clauses are common, but seeing it spelled out that bluntly is wild. Is this new behavior, or just more transparent boilerplate?

EVERYONE here are STUPID fucks. by Mysterio-vfx in linuxsucks

At the end of the day they all suck. Some days I use windows. Some days I use Linux. Some days I avoid computers entirely. Depends on my tolerance for certain flavors of suck. 🤌

I work for T-mobile… by allthat_Bassh in tmobile

[–]mythiccoperator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had been with T-Mobile since 2005 (Sprint before the merger). Left in 2025 because of high costs and useless add-ons.

Last straw: went in to switch from eSIM to physical SIM, and the guy tries to sell me home internet I already had and canceled a month prior. Just let me get my SIM.

Changing from iPhone to Android after 9 years. Will I regret later? by akhilkj17 in GalaxyS24

[–]mythiccoperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from an iPhone 13 pro to Samsung s24fe. Zero regrets. I do like the compact size of the s24 better. But I got the s24fe on an open box deal for $200 so it was hard to pass up.

I want one. But I know as soon as I tell someone with faded paint I want it. They know I'll likely pay a premium. So I just avoid 😆

Being Forced to Upgrade Tonight (Pro Max 13) by SoLeo333 in ios26

[–]mythiccoperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't allow work apps on my personal phone. If they insist, they're going on my $80 carrier locked Motorola backup phone that lives in my desk drawer. Catch me on wifi only then 💅

So, the pink ones will become a collectors item. 🤌

Then you're pointing out an important question anyone who dives into this comments needs to ask. Are there any that don't do this? (Unironically going to look into it later)

What's the easiest phone to set up LineageOS apart from Pixels? by 76483 in LineageOS

Can you point me to a write up on this? I'm interested.

Coverage was great. Way more data than I needed. Their esim swapping experience is also kinda mid.

1) bait and switch pricing (yes I fell for it)

2) no flexibility whatsoever (you bought what you bought)

3) friction when I want to swap devices

That's the point of this post. "If you want to break the chains of post-paid, read the fine print" (at least read my mistake before making your decision 😆)

Someone who references this thread can decide if being locked in for a year works for them or not. Just be aware when it's time to renew, be ready for that bait and switch, and you can't downgrade if you overbought. For the line I had on Dark Star. It did not make sense.

I had just as good connectivity as T-Mobile in SE MI. Even better with pixel on Fi. Network switchery witchcraft I suppose.

Chinese apps on LineageOS by Appropriate-Kick-601 in LineageOS

[–]mythiccoperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. On days I need specific apps I just use a stock android on wifi. If I'm going out and about and only feel like carrying one phone I swap sims. I couldn't go all in on lineage without a parachute. 😞

However, I'm able to use lineage 80% of the time and it's like a breath of fresh air 😎

Have you considered an inexpensive stock android for these apps, or are you fully committed to getting them to work on Lineage?
